Might these be "driving lights"?
Cars with "driving lights" have lights that are supposed to stay on all the time the engine is running.
These lights not only look like headlights, in fact some cars even have the headlights themselves come on when the engine is running. Look as some more (several) 2002 Grand Marquis's and see if they are the same.
Be blessed.

SOURCE: Headlights work intermitently

HI,Inspect the #27 fuse holder of the Central Junction Box (CJB) for a questionable contact issue with the male spade of the fuse, which may cause intermittent loss of contact.if ok sounds like you need lcm= light control module.

SOURCE: 2003 mercury grand marquis headlights will cut out

My 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis has the same problem. We found out it was the headlight module located under the dash above the gas pedal. The black box has wire connectors coming out of the back. Hitting the box worked for a little while, then I had to reach in the back and wiggle the wire harness. The dealership wants 500.00 to replace the unit. I consider Highway Robbery! They have installed a faulty piece of equipment on my Luxury car that could easily be life threatening but we know it won't be recalled until someone dies because of it. My husband was able to remove the unit and looked it over it had two circuit boards and he was unable to visibly see any problem or loose wire. He cleaned the connectors and used some electrical terminal grease on the wires, this improved it for a short time. The problem still exsists. I have sat for 30 minutes or more waiting for them to go through the On/Off cycle till they stay on for the 45 minute ride home from work. I have beat the box with my flashlight (maglights handle the abuse, my fingers and nails don't) till it came loose from the brackets that hold it. I leave my car running while pumping gas, short shopping trips and start it 20 or 30 minutes early before leaving for work. It is frustrating and dangerous. If this is the kind of quality in our American made cars it's no wonder they needed a BailOut! The only thing we have found to "fix" it is to find a used part that could possibly have the same problem shortly down the road or pay the theives at the dealership to replace it.

SOURCE: when I turn on the

This sounds like an issue with your ignition switch. Basically what is happening here is that you are shutting off your vehicle, but the ignition switch is not working correctly and is allowing certain accessories to stay on.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Grand Marquis Mercury and my blower

Sounds like the blower relay is sticking. I would check that first.

Headlights do not come back on when vehicle has been driven for a while (?)

Its only a guess but see if the headlight switch looks like its getting hot or has that hot electrical smell to it. If you can substitute it for another from a yard or so, try that. The other option is the headlamp relay is dying and somehow is heat affected. Check that out by swapping a similar one you don't use, like heated rear window?

I have a 97 marquis and the headlights wont turn off whether the car is on or off and its killing my battery

Until you get as fix, unhook one of the battery cables each time you
stop the car, and hook it up again when you are ready to go somewhere. Sounds like it might be a broken headlight switch.

My PRNDL don't work, loose shift indicator won't go into gear. Plenty of transmission fluid, no obvious wear or breakage, what do I do now?

When you turn the key to the ON position are there any instrument lights on the dash? Does the radio work? If not, dead battery.

Dim headlights on 1999 grand marquis

Bulbs -usually burn out, all at once, haven't you had that happen

Blue Bulbs- are illegal in most states & you asked about the most
light. Won't get that from some aftermarket fancy color gimick

So Dim Lights--that is a problem obviously
You will have to have that diagnosed,I won't guess
at it. Only visual inspection & testing will establish why their dim

1990 grand marquis has 40 psi to fuel rail. Injectors dont seem to open. Car wount start. Car starts and runs when fuel is sprayed directly into intake.

A lot of cars, trucks, SUV's, Toyota 4x4's will not start , until COMPLETELY assembled. I have left off just the last air boot between the filter & intake throttle body, & NOTHING. Then sprayed a touch of "starting fluid" & Varooom. It came to life. I checked fuel rail, it checked out, still nothing. I gort angry, had picked up the vehicle cheap, for a quick "flip" for some extra money while the wife was hospitalized. I didn't have any more time to fool with it. Put the boot back on between the filter & throttle body. Put a For Sale sign on it. Turned the key....to turn the whell to roll it down into the yard, & it fired & ran. After scratching my head a while, I took the boot off, NOTHING ELSE, no start.sure it is completely assembled.

96 grand marquis... my interior lights (dome and doors) stay on after car is started and wont turn off until about 10 minutes after I stop the engine/turn the vehicle off. Doors seem fine (have not...

The first thing is that this car has an auto shut down, if it sees any lights on it shuts them down after a while, this is why they are shutting off, i think you are correct with the door switch, the most common one is the driverdoor switch, its a small push type switch on the latch asm as you know, i would start with the driverside door, i would almost bet thats the bad one, as afr as the headlight switch try unplugging it and see if light goes out but some models operate throught the switch but most dont so if its the dimmer switch then the light should go out when disconnected. good day.

I have a 93 Mercury Grand Marquis and the headlights randomly turn off and on, does anyone know how to solve this?

There are 3 components for the headlights in your dash. The headlight switch, the delay switch, and the autolamp light sensor. If you have the lights manually turned on, without the autolamp position on the switch being on, then the headlight switch is a simple off-on switch.
If the headlight switch is manually on and the lights are cutting out the problem is either the fusible links or bad contacts in the light switch.
If you are using the autolamp position on the light switch, this is a different circuit. The autolamp system needs the light sensor to work. If the light sensor is dangling under the tiny slots in the dash every bump you hit will shake it. Or it can be a broken filament in the light sensor. To test, just eliminate the circuit by using only the manual off-on side of your light switch.

A loose power wire to the light switch (or ground) will affect BOTH the manual and automatic settings. But if the manual setting always works, then its the automatic parts that are broken. The delay switch does not work until after the ignition is off so it can not be the problem while you are driving.
