2005 chev impala, 3.4L
Battery going dead over night, No abnormal activity on the dash. No lights on, or flickering. Removed battery & alternator & had them load tested for shorts at a Starter & Alternator reman. Co. They both test ok.
I replaced the BMC or Ign. module relay & had no problems for one week, then it started again. I disconnected my fully charged battery at
the ground cable, let it sit for 30 minutes at which time i began testing for a power draw with my DMM. My meter is reading a constant 1.36 amps. I started pulling fuses one at a time. The only fuse that made any difference was a 10amp on the drivers side of cabin, labled
"cluster/BCM". From articles I have read, this does not have the symptoms of a bad BCM-module. Your the expert hopfully. I,m just an

Have u tried diconnecting battery at night then hook it up in the morning? because there isnt a short in the batt. does not mean the batt. is still good it could have a cell that is weak not alowing enough cranking amps to flow.
Hi, I have been struggling with this issue for a few weeks and finally found the problem. History: the radio has been acting wonky and the radio power / volume button does not control the radio properly i.e. when you push the power button, the radio comes on but attempting to adjust the volume, changes the fade, balance and bass controls and further turning the volume, shuts the radio off. After a few dead battery mornings and recharges, I noticed that with the charger connected and the radio off, I could hear the unfiltered power sound coming through the speakers. I pulled the radio / amplifier fuse and bingo, no more drain. I am reluctant to get a used radio from the wrecker as I dont know if it was the radio or the amp as the root cause.
