I really have no idea what you are speaking about since I just joined this forum today, although it appears you simply enjoy spouting rude and unhelpful remarks which would explain why someone would want to charge you for the time, just to prevent you from wasting your own money. And FYI, consultants in my field get closer to 150.00 for answering questions, a large amount that many cannot afford which is why I "Trade expertise" with forums such as this one. Hopefully this will prove to be a useful and educational forum filled with members like the others that answered my query and not rude and ignorant members such as yourself.

My 1995 ford contour will not move forward or in reverse in gear

Check your Transmission Fluid, if it has a burnt smell you are going to need a rebuild. If it is the right level and clean check to make sure that the shifter is actually shifting the transmission by watching the shift selector lever on the transmission while someone shifts the gear shift inside the car.

Car will shift into gears fine but when in drive or reverse the car will not give gas it just revs but it will run fine in d2 what could the solution be

Check transmission fluid, add if required - also take note of the color and smell of the fluid on the dip stick. If it has grayish black particulate or smells like burnt wiring you most likely have burnt up clutch packs in the transmission. Good luck.

2001 f350 v10 automatic transmission will not engage gears

Hi Brent,

No gears at all is not a good sign. About the only things that can cause all the gears to go out at the same time is either the transmission has a severe fluid leak and there is no fluid left to engage the clutches or you have something broken like an input shaft.

If your truck is a 4X4 make sure there is not something silly like the transfer case being in neutral.

Otherwise, check your fluid level. If it is really low, then you need to find out why. If it is not low, look at the color of the fluid and smell the fluid. Good fluid should be pink or red. Bad fluid will be dark brown and will have a burnt smell to it.

If the fluid looks and smells bad, then it is probably time for a transmission overhaul.

2003 Ford Taurus--about 1 week ago heard noise under hood but car continued to drive okay. Then, I went to go to work, it cranks fine but when I shift into a gear, car does not move. Looked at belt under...

You say transmission fluid levels are good. Is it a nice red or pink color or is it an orange, brown to black color. Does the vehicle actually shift into gear, the linkage from the gear shift from park to drive or reverse maybe be unhooked you can check that out also. Does the trans fluid smell burnt, should be kind of a sweet smell. Good Luck

I have a 1998 Oldsmobile intrigue (automatic). The car drives fine in reverse, however when I put it in drive, the car does not move. You have to rev the motor up real high for it to move an inch. Any...

The transmission is nearly dry. Add some transmission fluid! Automatic transmissions require oil pressure for the car to move, and if you don't have enough oil in it, it won't build up enough pressure to move the car

What will make a 1995 ford contour transmission feels like it went into a lower gear and sometimes the rpms will tac up once it catches you will hear a noise like a belt slips then the car will ****...

It seems like your transmission bands are slipping, it may be time for a transmission overhaul or you coiuld be low on fluid. Check your transmission fluid, if it is a pinkish color it is clean, if it is a dark red or black color and if you smell it it, it smells burnt you may have some damage to your transmission.

Reverse went out on i can hear it in the transmission but it will not go in to gear what could be wrong with it

If it's an automatic transmission check your fluid with the car running in park, if it isn't low on fluid the transmission filter might need to be replaced.
Id the transmission fluid has a burned smell to it you have worse problems possibly burned clutches which requires replacing the transmission or a rebuild

TRANSMISSION COMES OUT OF DRIVE WHEN I STOP THE CAR

Start with a complete flush of the trany and torque converter, and a filter replace. That should fix the problem, but the Taurus has a bad reputation for trany's going out frequently.
