2005 chev cavalier the cd player keeps spitting out the cd's and saying ERR on the screen, she keeps saying that and trying to spit something out when there's nothing in it. It's killing my battery, I think it's doing it due to extreme cold conditions (-40 Celsius) but when she warms up there's no difference.

2005 chev cavalier the cd player keeps spitting out the cd's and saying ERR on the screen, she keeps saying that and trying to spit something out when there's nothing in it. Turn on heater to warm up player it works for me I have a 2001 it will only play when it is warm

Sorry to say there is no fixing this unit. GM struck a deal with Panasonic to supply CD players for their DELCO radios. Panasonic is not releasing any parts for this unit so you can either find one at a salvage yard or on ebay, craigslist, etc... They are basically a "throw-away" unit.

there are "no user serviceable parts" inside so the answer is buy a new unit.OR transfer all your music to mp3 then use an fm transmiter to play through your fm radio.or you mums or your sisters cars......or even the car behind(if he tunes his radio into your frequency...)the good thing is no more searching for the right cd....did it for my car and got 60 hours of music in a box the size of a credit card...

Try a different CD, the CD could be scratched or defective. the CD player could have dust in it ,try a CD player cleaner.which is a CD with a brush that cleans the dust of the CD reader

Most radios and cd players in cars require a code to get them operating again after they have been disconnected from the battery for an extended time. Hopefully a dealer could help you locate the code for that model.

Either it's a bad CD (format, or scratches), or you have a faulty CD Player. If the CD player is bad, it is likely much cheaper to just buy a new one, than to fix the factory one.

My cd player was working fine with my cds, then it began to spit them back out reading err, I put another unit in, specifically a 98 blazer cd unit and even that unit read err with my cds, any suggestions?

CD's could need to be cleaned.
If you burned them yourself, the CD's could be
scratched are dammaged.

Unlike store bought CD's home made CD's do not have a
protective plastic coating.

CD player in 05 chevy cavaliar shows ERR what can

you have a cd driver error and it needs to be repaired or replaced. repairing it is cheaper, and the cheapest solution, Our shop repairs these unit on a regular basis. If you replace it with another factory unit you will have to have it programed at the dealer for it to work. Aftermarket radio will require some skill o install. modules and accessories will need to be purchased. Not sure where you are but our shop is in Oshawa Ontario.

some factory radios wont play burnt cds,dont know if thats the case?but i not the case the optcal lens in side the radio is bad got one id sell you out of a 05 ha ha.

This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.
