Hey ang its dave again, how are you? i have two questions....1 is....is there a way to check to see if the computer/brain is working? and 2...can you put a computer or brain from a junk car, would it need to be re-programmed?
so far i still have lights and the windows can still move up and down, it doesnt sound like the fuel pump is making any noise, thanks again!
1996 was a hybrid year for the cherokee, they started using the newer computers in half of the jeeps...you can plug in your vin to see if you have the newer one, if you don't, you can put a 95 or older computer in it without flashing it. Do you have any codes?

You have a motor for the front and rear washer. Check the fuses. If the intermitted wipers does not work, there is a relay under the dash near the steering colum that needs to be replaced.

dont know for sure how true this is but ive always used 10w30 in them.sometimes it will tell you under the hood on the sticker with the info or your nearest oil change station has the capability to look up what the manufacturer calls for.I think all older chryslers ran 10w30 though

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.
