Loose screw rolling around in side view mirror assembly 1999 mazda miata

Depending on the bumpiness of the road, I can occasionally see a loose screw rolling around behind the driver's side view mirror. The hood portion of the mirror assembly seems slightly loose, vibrating when I get up to highway speed. My goal, if possible, would be to remove the mirror portion only, so that I can return the loose screw to its intended location.

Usually the mirror is 'glued' to the moving parts of the inside. Most of the time one will need to remove the mirror and re-glue it back.

SOURCE: Miata has 61000 miles want replace timing belt to be on safe side

California has a law that Mazda guarantees the timing belt will last 105,000. I drove my 1999 Miata that long before I replaced it. Mazda ia a non interactive motor which means that if the belt breaks the car stalls and won't go anywhere. No damage to engine if it breaks.

SOURCE: How do you adjust the headlights on a 2002 Mazda Miata?

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

Once all of the hardwae has been removed then you need to pull the assembly toward the center of the vehicle while pulling outward on the inboard edge of the lens.

SOURCE: My 2005 Mazda 3 driver's side windshield wiper is

there is a plastic cap at the base, pull the cap off you will see a nut. take the nut off, lift the arm, a little rocking but no prying please. take a close look at the serrations inside the base of the arm. if they are stripped smooth then you need a replacement arm. these can be had at the dealer or used at a junkyard, if you go used please examine it to make sure it is not also stripped and that it is the right arm, left and right arms are usually not the same. put back on in reverse order, use some loctite on the nut.

How do you replace Miata side door mirror

Hi,

Open the door of your Miata and locate the three screws in the door panel. The first is located in the trim plate where the door handle is. A second lies below that inside the grab handle on the door. The last one is found in the upper end of the door handle.

Remove the three retaining screws on the door with a Phillips screwdriver. Locate the three push in retainers on the panel. There is one on the face of the panel near the upper front corner and two in the rear door jam.

Lift the center of the retainers with a flat tool or small screwdriver. Pull the door panel out from the bottom. Lift the panel out of the window track and move it out far enough to access the wiring behind it.

Remove the electrical connectors for the window and door locks by unplugging them from the switches. Unplug the wires from the door speakers and remove the panel. Set it aside.

Locate the wiring connector for the mirror heater and adjustment motor. Unplug it from the wiring harness connector on the inside of the door.

Turn the mirror on your Miata sideways to reveal the two mounting bolts inside the base. Remove the bolts with a socket and ratchet. Pull the mirror off the body, fishing the wires out of the hole in the body.

Best regards.

How do i get the rear view mirror back on?

I am assuming you are talking about the interior rear view mirror and not the side rear view mirror. Most auto parts stores sell an adhesive glue to fix the interior rear view mirror. Most of these mirrors have two parts to them. One part is the bracket that glues to the windshield and the other part is the rear view mirror assembly. Before gluing the bracket to the glass check and see how the mirror assembly attaches to the bracket. There will often be a screw that fixed the two together.

The glass in the driver side rear view mirror is loose. how do you tighten it up?

The driver and passenger side mirrors have a small rubber plug in the bottom center of the mirror housing. Remove the plug and there is a phillips head screw holding the mirror assembly. Tighten this screw about 1/8 turn and it will keep the mirror from moving around. If you remove the screw you can remove the mirror and drive motors. Use a bit of thread-lock to keep the screw from loosing again. Reinstall the rubber plug.

How do you replace mazda mx5 wing mirror have took door panel off no bolt

There should be screws hidden underneath the cover at the base of the mount for the wing mirrors - if you look around the cover, you should be able to pop it off and get at the screws.

Replace glass, drivers door on 1997 GMC 1/2 ton Truck ,2wd, Power windows

The door panel is held onto the door with clips but first you need to remove the screws from the grab handle on the door panel. then pop the bezel off around the inside door handle. very carefully!!! then using a clip tool pry off the peice that covers the rear view mirror nuts and pry gently all the way around the door panel until its loose then lift it up slightly to unseat the window channel strip off the door, then unhook your wires. As for the window roll it up, tape it to the door then line up the 2 10mm bolts that clamp it to the regulator with the provided holes in the door, loosen 'em up roll the regulator down and remove the window. Have fun guys!!!
