I noticed yesterday that my car started bucking when I was driving but then it stopped. Today it was bucking, especially when I stopped at traffic lights and then the check engine light started blinking. I can't afford to have it fixed now. Is there anything I can check myself?
Buy a cheap code reader ($20) and check your codes or go to your local parts place and some will read your codes for you for free.A blinking "check engine light" is a severe warning and the codes should be checked NOW.

sounds like you have a blown head gasket this would explain loss of coolant and running poorly excessive smoke.

Change the coil pack if your getting No spark.Or the crankshaft sensor.

1999 300M 150,000 Miles
Car dies when coming off acceleration or at idle in traffic or at a stop. I can watch the Tach go to 0 RPM, some times it will restart immediately other times it is hard to start, so far I have always been able to re-start it and Drive on. Does anybody have verified fix for this issue, I have seen posts saying can and crank sensor, throttle body, EGR, and many more ideas... Do not really want to just start replacing parts with the hope that I eventually get a fix. Help...
