SOURCE: where is the fuel pump shutoff switch located on a 1996 chevy silverado 1500 located

Should be on the passenger side kickplate below the glovebox and to the right. You may have to remove the plastic panel to access it or look for a small hole in it and feel around for the button

SOURCE: 1996 chevrolet C1500. The back

The bulb for the turn signal/brake light is a double filament bulb. It will come on with the lights on, but should light the second filament, making it brighter, with the brakes applied or turn signal on. It could just be a bad bulb, but one common problem on these years of truck is the rear light circuit board and requires the whole assembly to be replaced. Start by checking the bulb first though.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

The headlights lights are working but the brake lights aren't. I suspect a bad fuse but don't have an owners manual, so I need a fuse panel diagram for a 1996 Chevy C1500. Got one?

no, sorry . but i do have a suggestion that might help. do the taillights work? if so check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. also , does the high mount light work and not the rear ones? if so you may want to check the turn signal switch to make sure there is voltage on that circuit.

My reverse lights and brake lights dont work on my 97 c1500. the signal work and when i turn on my headlights the tail lights come on but still no brake or reverse lights

It sounds like you have two separate switch problems, brake light switch located at the top of the brake pedal arm, loose or broke, and the back-up light switch located on transmission or linkage depending on transmission type. When asking questions always give as much info as possible.

1996 chevrolet K1500 brake light switch

The parts store had given me a booster for an 88-94 model. The the brake booster rod end clevis would not actuate the switch. After installing the correct part number component it works like a champ.

1996 chevy 1500 has new brake light switch. It operates only if I hold backup pressure against it.

Your new switch is just out of adjustment. Try moving the switch closer to the dash by un-plugging the switch, loosening the jamb nut, and turning it clockwise 4-5 turns, then re-tighten your jamb nut and plug the connector back in. If this doesn't work, try turning the switch in the opposite direction. I had a similar problem on a S-10, and this fixed it.

I have a 1998 C1500 and the problem is my crusie control does not work and my brake light do not work. replaced the brake booster and that fixed the problem for a little while but problem is back.

You might have a bad brake light switch located at the top of the brake pedal, there's also a cruise control switch mounted next to the brake light switch.

1996 chevy 1500

with the ignition in the "off" position get a test light and touch one wire at a time while cycling the ignition switch to the "on" position, When you see that the test light goes off when the ignition switch is in the off position then you found the hot wire, make sure you dont hook it up to the "alway hot " wire or you might drain the battery hope this helps.
