A resister would only cause it not to work on 1or2 speeds, Not all of them, The Blower motor is shot (Probally) They don,t last for ever, There is allso a relay for them in the fuse block in the engine compartment, That might be defective,
Check owners manual for location of heater blower motor front, check with a test light,if it's good locate blower motor under glove box and test the two wires for power when switch is turned on,if power is present motor needs changed.if no power check blower motor resister.
tn my 2005 Grand Caravan there is a resister unit located behind the glove box that also has a "thermal fuse link". This fuse is not replacable and if it blows your fan motor will not work. The replacment unit is $14.00 at Auto Zone.
If the blower motor is not working the most likely cause is the blower resister, but you must replace the blower motor also because the resistance build-up inside the motor is what damages the resister.
