SOURCE: power steering

Go to a parts store and tell them you want power steering return hose or transmission cooler hose. It comes in bulk, they can just cut off how much you need.

Be sure that they didn't release your refrigerent while working on the rear heater lines. Have them test the ac system for refrigerent volumn and pressure, and then ask them why it worked before and not now! The rear ac lines often run parralel to the rear heater lines.

Good Morning, I have a Ford E150 1995 with rear air conditioner. I have seen anti freeze on the ground by the left rear tire. Is that a metal line or rubber hose. Thanks for your any help you can give me.

The plumbing to the rear heater is metal lines under the body and then connect with rubber to the core in the heater, with the age of the van the leak is most likey the metal lines corroded. If you don't need the rear heater operational, the lines can be by-passed in the front of the van [ it will not affect the cooling system].

2005 kia sedona 76,000 overheats the engine

My 2005 KIA Sedona started overheating in Winter 2009/2010 and was loosing antifreeze. No leaks from the heater hoses or radiator hose. No pressure in the radiator either.

I had found a site where folks were discussing the same things and someone brought up the rear heater. Apparently KIA has run steel hoses running under the chasis to the rear of the van and these rot.

I looked under the rear at the wheel well and located the lines and they were wet with antifreeze. I traced the lines to the firewall and found where the lines were connected to the coolant system and bypassed the rear heater lines.

I then filled up the radiator and overflow tank with antifreeze and started the van. I rocked the van to get air to move out of the lines and kept adding antifreeze until it was full. then used the overflow tank to top it off.

Hope this helps.

Rear heater line is gone in van. How can I cap this line? The antifreeze runs right out the line as I put it in the rad. The rear heater is in the off position.

You'll have to rejoin or replace the rear heater core line that leads to the rear from the front if it's leaking like described.

One might be able to use a section of rubber hose with clamps, if the two ends are flared with a tool, hoping that the pressure won't make it leak at these two joints.

Or, as suggested in the question, one might cap the line, disabling the rear heater. Check with your local auto parts store for a rubber cap that can block the end. Maybe try a place like Lowe's which stocks a wide variety of plastic, rubber, and metal plumbing supplies that might be helpful.

There are two metal lines coming off engine that rusted and has a leak and they come down so far and connect to two lines that go to the rear of the van.

There are 3 types of lines that go to the rear of a car. If you have a van with rear heater, they could be coolant lines for the heater. These would be about 1.25 inch in diameter.
There are 2-3 lines from the fuel tank to the engine compartment. One is the fuel line, one is the evaporation control line. If a third, it might be a return line for overpressure. These lines are about 0.5 inches in diameter.
The brake lines for the back wheels will go from the brake system master cylinder to the wheels. These lines are about 0.25 inch in diameter.
If any of these is leaking, it will have to be repaired. Please let us know if you have questions.

KIA SEDONA HAS REAR HEAT BUT NOT FRONT HEAT BLOWERS WORK BUT ONLY COLD AIR COMES IN FRONT

This could be a serious problem. Check your coolant level, then check the rear heater lines that supply coolant to the rear heater. They run under the van, over time they rust and leak. Because it is under and to the rear of the van it is hard to notice, i.e. coolant puddles and smell. But please note that this engine has aluminum cylinder heads and does not take kindly to being overheated.

your vehicle has two heater cores in it one front and one rear, there will be two heater hoses running back the van under the passenger side of van, after van is run and engine is at operating temp, find the hoses and see if they are both hot or if one is hot and one is not.those hoses are the temperature that will come out your rear heater.sometimes people get a leak in the rear and just cut and plug those hoses, and they do the same with the two metal lines that have freon in for the rear A/C.

I do not have heat in the front of my van. Is

If you have front and rear heat then, yes there are two heater cores. If not, then there is just the one, behind the dashboard. Have you checked the coolant level? If it's not full, top it off and retest it. Is the engine actually getting up to operating temperature? Feel the coolant lines that go into the heater core, is one hot and the other cool? If so, the heater core is likely clogged. Remove the lines and blast some water from a garden hose through it to clear any debris that might be clogging it.

Replacing a heater core is usually a big job that requires removing the entire instrument panel. If it's not leaking coolant onto the floorboard it probably is ok and doesn't need to be replaced.
