2000 VW Passat Climate control Switch panel lights out

How do I check or replace the dash lights for the climate control dash backlighting ?
Are these lights on a circuit that may have bad fuse? How do I access the area - RIP trim piece off of the dash?? LOL or gently pry until it breaks? LOL

Thanks in advance

    The car had knobs.

Is this a climatronic car? or has knobs?

Did you check the fuse? Or before doing that, pull up the driver's side carpet and check the wires that go to the big black box. There is a wire that controls those lights. My wire was corroded and therefor, the temp and fan lights were out. I respliced and the problem was solved.

SOURCE: VW Volkswagen Jetta 2004 instrument light out??

You need to pull off the knob and get a pair of really thin needle nose pliers in there to extract the bulb.  Match the bulb up at a parts store or the deal and install opposite of removal.

How do I replace a climate control panel light bulb for a 2000 VW Cabriolet. I've pulled off the fan control knob and do not see a bulb?

the "bulb" is usually built into the switch/knob , i've never seen one that can be replaced without getting a new knob , or the other variation is an LED behind the panel , these are also non replaceable but can be repaired if you can find an auto electrician to carry out the job

Replace climate control panel lights 05

take out the control box, check linkage and voltage both before and after the switch if you have voltage before the switch and not after then the switch is bad and needs to be replaced

Climate control lights in Nissan sentra 97 all just went out dash ones still work not dimmer switch is it a fuse if so which one

You will have to remove the dash to get to it. If it were a fuse chances other lights or the climate controls themselves would not work...

My 2002 vw passat wagon blows hot air out of the heating/cooling vents when the climate controls are completely off. I have the electronic climate control system. Can this be remedied?

If you don't want just start replacing parts , then give it to your mechanic and let him scan it for you , I'm sure it can be done much faster and more efficiently rather then try to fix it over the internet.

HEATER LIGHTS IN CONTROL PUSH BUTTONS ON 200 BUCIK LESABRE

I finally replaced the Backlights, using a guide from a person at www.answerbag.com
who wrote:

(i've got an 04 limited. i just soldered in new bulbs for the lighting controls panel (5 #272-1092) and the digital HVAC panel (1 #272-1092 and 5 #272-1154). steering wheel control bulbs are next. )

Just buying a cheap Used one may be the best, if you are not good with dis-assembly and soldering small electric bulbs
Depending on the style you can get a Used One from an online junkyard for 25-50 USD
Check LKQonline out..
http://stores.ebay.com/LKQonline

The most difficult part is getting the Climate Control Module out of the dash, to make the soldering new bulbs repair. The wood-grain Bezel needs to come off, BE CAREFULL, its long and flexible and can crack easy if the wrong pressure is applied or its cold outside or cold in the car cab. Its held in the dash with GM friction clips ( pain in the %$#) and 2 Phillpis screws behing Glove Box door. I worked the pull- pressure from the A/C vent on Right, left-ward to the center, and from Steering Column right-ward toward the center. Once the Bezel is removed, the Climate Control Module is seen, with 4 push-tabs on each corner. BE CAREFULL pushing in the tabs....I broke off one as in pushed too hard. Pry out Right side while pushing 2 right-side tabs gently together. Repeat for the Left Side, while pushing 2 left-side tabs together gently. The Climate Control Module should pop out. Use a 3/8inch Nut Driver to remove the headless screws that hold the Climate Control Module PushButton plate to the box. This will expose the Printed Circuit Board for solder replacement of the Bulbs.
