SOURCE: I repair my Equinox 2007

HIYA!
All Equinoxes has yellow coloured wire harness to identify this as a air-bag system.
This yellow coloured wire 'system network' has connections in some areas...one is located at the front passenger's floor area close to the door (right-side corner area, just remove screw or clip and plastic trim part to gain access to see yellow wire there-it has socket plug connected with red clip-string to secure it) and another yellow wire is found between the front seats-you need to remove armrest, center console area and possible remove the front passenger seat to see yellow wire connect to black device underneath carpet in the middle.
Check to ensure the yellow wire sockets are plugged in properly, and not accidently cut or pulled off during your underseat repair.
In case your Equinox has roof side air-bag option, the yellow wire/sensor are located below the front seatbelt device inside the lower pillar frame area. (it's between the doors)
Hope this help you solve your repair task.

SOURCE: We need to know how

Was it in a wreck ? sounds like it .. or nearly .. they are designed to lock up if there is a wreck or the air bags go off.. I never have been able to repair them .. They need to be replaced with new.. There is a device inside that also explodes like the air bags and it locks them in place holding the person in the seat tight.. sorry but that is the way they are.. Jerry and thanks

Equinox heated seats not working

It may be because of a bad fuse, so first replace the 20-Amp fuse located in the instrument panel fuse box. If that does not solve the problem, check for:
1. Broken switch connection
2. Broken switch
3. Broken or weak wiring
4. Broken circuit
5. Faulty heating pad
If this sounds too overwhelming, it would be best to take your car to the dealership for a quick fix.

2007 Equinox drivers seat will not heat...light goes off after a minute.

I finally got out my ohm meter and the circuit diagram and checked out all the wires. Turns out the problem was an open circuit in the drivers side seat heating pad. The connectors are fairly accessible under the seats. The circuit is rather involved since the control module is under the passenger seat and the inputs come from the switches on the dash through the climate control module!! What a complicated execution for heated seats!
But I was able to find some new replacement seats on Craigslist and picked one up for $100. It was pretty easy to replace with just the 2 bolts at the back, the wiring harness underneath and the shoulder belt clip. Now everything is working and I sold the old seat for $60. A ne $40 repair and 3 hours of diagnosis and swap work.

My back seat middle seatbelt is locked and the seat is folded down. how do i unlock the seatbelt to raise the seat back upright

That just happened to our 05 equinox. We have car seats so one of the seats was reclined just a bit. This will cause the seatbelt to lock. We took out the car seat, folded down the other seat and folded it back. It cause the locked seat to release and unfold.

05 equinox wet carpet(backseat)and flooded tire well

i have had this same problem on my 05, you need to check your "cabin pressure release valve cover" its located below the driver side tail light underneath the bumper. so if you look directly underneath the light laying on the ground you can run your hand up the bumper and feel it, its a rectangle hole. i had to go the dealership to have them identify it for me. but thats is where my water leak was coming in from.
i'm assuming with wear and tear after 4-5 years of road it probally cracked and gave out and is letting water in through there. this has been verified by me as well.

Heated seats won't stay on in 2004 GMC Yukon Denali

See GM TSB 05-08-143-001, If you have Adjustable pedals, especially if they don't work with the memeory buttons, but function with thier own buttons. Its the Brake Pedal Position Sensor is shorted and mesing up the seat module which controls the heaters too. My 05 Suburban had the same issue
