Driving home from the airport, i was going about 65mph. all of a sudden reduced engine power came across the dashboard and the check engine light came on. took it to autozone and they said that it was the "throttle positioning sensor" . since you cant just buy the sensor i replaced the whole part. didnt stop acting up, so took it back to autozone so they could scan it again, codes came up the same and they said it needed to be driven 30-50 miles, for the code to reset itself. SO, needless to say, 50 miles later, it didnt reset and my car still has no power... well.. not even half as much as it did before all of this. no stalling or shutting off...its so frustrating. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

These trucks have a drive by wire system,we seen a` lot with a broken ground wire on the rear of the drverside cyl head, this is hard to see just feel and give the wire a tug .If the wire is loose or broken the reduced engine power light will come on.

If you are really really lucky, it is the harness on the side of the transmission. Unplug the harness looking for corrosion. Clean and reassemble.
It could be the TFP Switch, wires connecting TFP to PCM or the PCM is bad

Codes don't always mean a bad senors. One new TPS sensor would have me moving on to something else. Put a scan tool on it and not just a code reader. Check fuel pressure with the gauge on the windshield as you drive.

I would just like to ask what brand of pump you are replacing it with, as all of the aftermarket pumps for those trucks (GM) have been producing alot of defects lately my suggestion pay a few more bucks and get a bosch pump, I manage a part store and have seen too many of them come back defective the only cure was a good bosch pump
Only way to be sure what is wrong is to have the computer scanned with a code reader or scanner to retrieve the trouble codes. They will direct you or a technician to the proper sensor, control, or circuit that is malfunctioning. Many national parts stores provide code reading for free.
?€¢
Limited throttle mode--The ECM will continue to use the accelerator pedal for throttle control; however, the maximum throttle opening is limited.
?€¢
Throttle default mode--The ECM will turn off the throttle actuator motor and the throttle will return to the spring loaded default position.
?€¢
Forced idle mode--The ECM will perform the following actions:
-
Limit engine speed to idle by positioning the throttle position, or by controlling the fuel and spark if the throttle is turned off.
-
Ignore the accelerator pedal input.
?€¢
Engine shutdown mode--The ECM will disable fuel and de-energize the throttle actuator.
