Do me a favor and cycle the key to on, then off, then on, then off, then back to on,& leave it in the on position.(not start) Now watch & record any flashes of the check engine light. You will get a number of flashes, then a pause, then more flashes. for example: 3 flashes, pause, then 3 more, would be code 33. It will always be a 2 digit number. 2 flashes,pause then 5 flashes, is code 25. When you get 5 flashes, pause then 5 more, that's code 55 which means end of message. But you'll have to plug the line very fast. with the pressure and volume of a full tank it makes that simple job a bit more of a task.
When you remove the rubber line from the nozzle of the fuel filter have a stemming plug or bolt handy to quickly insert to seal the flow from the line coming from the tank.
If you can either drain the tank via manual or electronic siphon or run some of that fuel out. Before taking that on or you're going to spill an yet to be determined amount of fuel.

Look for it under the hood before the carbruator.It has to be before the intake fuel line. You may need to remove the air cleaner to see it.Good Luck
