Depending on what engine you have as there are some that have timing belt and some have timing chain but the water pump is run by both and some times behind the timing cover.

still getting overheat... check the water pump, must see water flowing if not pump's deffective. if it still gets overheat,cylinder head gasket is the problem.
If the water pump have ben leaking for a while the timing belt jump timing.
what you need to do is replace the timing belt and the water pump, is about 500 dlls job.
the thermostat is located on the top of the engine follow the radiator hose it usually ends at the thermostat and the lower hose usually ends at the water pump which in your case will probably be on the side of the engine.
Check first where exactly the water comes from. It may come from the drain from the AC since the evaporator is located at that side. It may just be accumulating more moisture. If it is towards the engine it may be a bad water pump.
