Go to www.hmaservice.com and register vehicle by VIN #. Then you will have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc.

this last one was the best answer i found, unfortunately to give a more direct answer to the question, the absolute answer (after many painful and useless quests for the answer) is that there is no external filter and also no pan filter, the filter is inside the actual transmission which is only accessable when rebuiding it. there is no need to change the filter, just the fluid with a flush is all you can do with it.

Your information is correct -- the filter (screen) is inside the transmission

oh I meant when you drop the pan and change the fluid how many quarts you put back in

I just want to know where the transmission filter is on a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and how often the filter and fluid need changing?

Most Japanese/Korean made cars actually have no transmission filter...such as hyundai, toyota, honda. Fluid changes should be listed in your owners manual...I think its between 60,000-80,000kms...but I changed mine earlier in my elantra and added in some Lucas for trannys since I noticed mine shifting hard between second and third...cleared it up.

Where is the transmission filter on a 2003 Hyundai elantra? Does it even have one? Does it look like an oil filter or like a pan?

Hello elisa 15miran: My name is Roger and I will answer your question for you. As per a Hyundai. repair manual. bulletin 01-40-007. There is no transmission filter that needs to be changed. The filter is inside the case and is not serviceable except for when overhaul of the transmission.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the quality of your answer as this way we know you received the correct answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Tranny slips and window problem... electrical problem..related??

I think the first place you should start is by changing the fuel filter. If your fuel filter is partly plugged, it can make you think it's the transmission, when, in fact, it's actually the engine starving for fuel. It could also be your speed sensor, if the fuel filter doesn't make a difference. Good luck!

Where is trans filter?

The transmission filter in your vehicle is inside the transmission. It requires transmission removal and overhaul to be replaced.

The transmission filter in your vehicle does not need to be replaced unless the transmission is being rebuilt.
