The cheesy plastic door handle, located inside the extended cab door broke and now I cannot open the door. How do I go about replacing this piece of junk device?
You should replace the handle with an aluminum version. The best one I have found is sold on eBay for 12 dollars.
Look for the one sold by mike8756.
It is easy to install, does not require removing any panels. Th first one I replaced took me about 1/2 hour. I hae done several since for friends and now takes about 15 minutes.

If the door can not be opened by pulling on the latch rods from where the handle is located with a pair of pliers then the inner door panel will have to be removed to gain access to the latch rods to open the door and then replace the handle. the only bad part of that is the inner door panels normally do not come off in once pice that is able to be reinstalled without being cracked or completly broken. sorry for the bad news.
