My 1993 buick starts and idles for a little bit then starts to die. If I give it gas it will run ruff then when it dies I hear a vacuum sound near the carb.

Check to see if you have a lot of dirt in the throttle body. Clean the throttle blades out with brake cleaner or throttle body cleaner. You'll see alot of dirt come out. Keep spraying until it comes out fairly clear and wipe the throttle body out with a rag. If this doesn't do it, you may have a problem with the throttle position sensor (TPS). This sensor controls the idle after the car warms up and keeps it from dying when you brake or sit at idle.

you have a shorted fuel injector that is taking out the quad driver in the computer that is why i said did you ohm the injectors it should be 4.1 to 4.3 ohms per side anything less will shut off the quad driver in the computer. each individual injector should be 12 ohms

ya could be a bad filter. or maybe your injectors are getting bad.

Idle position switch or sensor. I had 93 that would stall when i came to a stop. Cost me $43 but it was worth it. I don't know if this will fix it, but it sounds like it would.

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.
