Shift fork wont move/all hydrolics replaced

With it on a lift i can switch gears in all gears without cluch or relese fork but once it is on the ground it wont shift.peddel has great preshure and mc sc and all lines have been replaced and vacume blead with a vaczilla. ondemand gives me nothing but put a new trans in. on the road it is hard to force it into gear and dies right after and if you have somone depress the clutch while u watch the shift fork wont engage(or disengage)yet the pressure off of the sc is eather way to much pressure or perfict but still will not engage. im of the suspission that it has to be a bent shifter fork(the main fork coming off the slave into trans) if started in 2nd gear i can get it going and once im going i can shift 3-5 . nick tyler Jan 19, 2013 reverse is the only one that will grind, like its stuck in forword gears

Just a suggestion here but my son was experiencing the same problem with his Toyota Celica. We replaced the clutch and throwout bearing and MC, had me stumped for days the I pulled back the rubber boot on the MC where the it comes through the firewall under the dash and saw that there was fluid leaking into the boot so basically the MC was bad an it was bypassing the metering valve causing the fluid not to push the slave cylinder all the way down for engagement. On another car ...a 97 Saturn SL it wouldn't shift into gear, also all new clutch components. Wound up being a bad top right side motor mount was bad. engine was sagging just enough to cause the clutch not to shift properly. I hope this helps.

Check all your hydraulic connections for seepage . If you find nothing leaking, check where the rod goes into the master cylinder under the dashboard...If still nothing, I'd change the master cyl, as it is likely internally bypassing and permitting the clutch to release. PS it takesa a special "touch" to shift gears without using the clutch, if you cannot do that don't drive it Till you get it fixed...you will damage synchros and will need to have trans removed and rebuilt. $$$you don't want to spend!!!

SOURCE: replaced clutch in 3000GT, all new parts, plate,

Are you sure the clutch disc is installed in the correct direction?
Admittedly, I haven't seen the clutch disc for a Mitsubishi 3000GT, but I have seen my share in many makes of vehicles.

The clutch disc may be one of those that will install in either direction. Some clutch discs are made so that the inner hub with springs, can be installed towards the crankshaft, or towards the tranny.

Can you verify that when you push the clutch pedal to the floor the slave cylinder is moving the pin that goes between the slave cylinder and the clutch fork. It sounds like the clutch is not releasing properly.

Acura rsx won't shift when it's on, only when off it shifts

This may be a clutch problem or a cluthch slave, what is happening is the transmission is not completely stopped spinning, so as you try to go into gear the clutch is not disengaged completely. this can be due to a bad slave or master.

The fluid for the clutch master, make sure its full. if low then you may have a leak. if low fill and pump pedal a few times to see if that helps.

If clutch master is low or full go to trany and locate the cltuch release fork on the transmission at the end you will see clutch slave, make sure there are no leaks. have someone push clutch pedal as you watch the fork move. make sure it move the distance. if its leaking then its bad.

The last thing would be the clutch pressure plate or disc, this is hard to see without removing transmission, If something broke away from cluch plate and is jammed against plate this will keep traany spinnig, but it would also be hard to get into first.

If you can start car in neutral and put into 1st gear without a problem then thats confusing, but if it is hard to go into first also then its in the clutch system. i am guessing you are in first with clutch down when starting and then its hard to get into other gears. good day.

Slight grinding noise in 3rd gear pops out now wont engage ANY gear clutch feels normal shifter feels normal , 190,000 miles was about to need cluch still the original

your teansmission is going to be overhauled. it sounds like the synchros are going bad. the shifter has forks that move the gears. sometimes the forks wear out and it can cause the gears to wear out because the gears are not going into like they are suppose to. leave comment..

88 Toyota Pickup, has become difficult to shift in to gear. Once in gear (1,2,3,or4th) very smooth. I believe must be something up front in the clutch linkage. Possibly? Can get into, but takes awful...

if your linkage was bent it wouldnt shift into all gears easily.sounds like you need to blead your slave cylinder to your clutch.10mm wrench and bleed it like your brakes same type set up.

Clutch will not engage when depressed

there could be one of a few issues here.
1 the thrust bearing may have gone which sites on the clutch plate prongs and the actuator arm.
if you have somebody who can depress the pedal while you go under and have a look at whats going on.
2 as this is a hydrolic assisted clutch there may be air got into the system which may show resistance but there is not enough pressure to push the clutch plates so the stay engaged.
when was the clutch fluid last replaced? as same as break fluid is will absorb moisture over time and reduce is effectiveness.
3. the clutch plates may have overheated last time round and welded together so they will not come apart and will have to be replaced.
do you drive with your foot covering the clutch pedal? this style of driving can cause the clutch to overheat as their is never full pressure during driving always leave your feet away from the clutch pedal once you have changed gear.

1992 A4LD trans problems.

Sounds like the shift kit is warn out in the transmission. The overdrive line may not be able to provide enough hydrolic pressure to engage the gears to move the truck. When you switch to regualr drive, that line is able to build the hydrolic pressure to engage the gears. At a certian speed (for the transmission, certian hydrolic pressure) there is enough pressure to engage the gears in overdrive, but go below that, and you have to start in drive again. If this is the case, there is no easy fix for that and I recomend taking it to a transmission shop to have your shift kit examined. Opening up an automatic transmission requires specalized tools, clean shop enviroment, and knowlage more then the average back yard machanic has.

Cluch won't dis engage

How long have you had your car? How many miles on it?

Maybe the clutch plate gone, if the plate is not thick enough, you won't change the gear.
