2004 suzuki verona: the transmission starts off in third gear..idle Here's one for you ..... My verona started doing the samething . you might need a fuel pump relay under dash 10 min fix/and your d4 flashing light bad transmission.

Turn the key to On position (make sure heater fan is off or kill the battery) and leave key in the on position for 30 mins.
Pull the fuse out of the security system and replace it again to reset it prior to this and see if that helps.

Does it not start or not crank ?
Do you see a security light on the dash ?

The key symbol on the dash normally will go out when the ignition is turned on, if it doesn't, you have a security system issue as I'm sure you've already guessed. I would start by checking the fuse box under the hood on the drivers' side of the engine compartment for blown fuses, this could be as simple as just a blown security system fuse. The under side of the fuse box lid should have all of the fuse labeling locations, you can also look in your owners manual for fuse locations and definitions. If you don't find any blown fuses you will have to go to someone who has a scan tool that can pull security system codes, the generic scan tools can only pull engine/transmission codes. theirs a sensor on the top of your transmission bellhousing that reads your flywheel check it , and you can try your fuse box thats under the hood ? i would pull each fuse and check it closely

sounds like you need a new ignition switch the pass lock is screwing up common.

is your anti theft light flashing or on????? does it crank or not??????

your key reader is not reading the chip in your key you can either replace the ignition switch cost about 250 dollars parts and labor or i can tell you how to bypass it for less than 20 bucks in premium chat hope this helps
