1998 Buick LeSabre, Problem seems fuel related. when i turn the key over it will sound like it wants to start but just wont. when i tried to give it some gas there was nothing. couldnt rev engine at all. i plugged my diognostics computer into it and everything checked out ok. any help and or advice will appreciated. just gimme some place to start. thanks

try pulling on the steering wheel pretty hard. sometimes it locks and wont let the key turn.

This sounds to me like an anti theft system failure. When your key does not communicate well will the TDM (theft deterrent module) in your vehicle, the car thinks it is being stolen and trys to prevent this by shutting down. It all stems from that little black chip in your key. The fuel filter could be gummed up, is it freezing out? I have seen them ice when it is cold from the water condensating in the tank, it freezes when it hits the filter. I would check the fuel pump too, if you turn the key on, listen for the pump to run, If you don't hear it, might be the problem. You could try squirting some fuel into one of the cylinders and see if it fires, Then you will know it is fuel related, and not spark. Hope this helps.

Yes, this sounds like your starter is begining to go out. What will happen as this problem continues to progress: is that when you go to start the car you will have to try 2, then 3 then 4 times for the starter to finally engauge. Then if you pray really hard when it gets to the 5th time it might start. The noise you hear is the bendix drive not engauging the flywheel.

98 buick lesabre wont crank with key. When I cross the starter it runs great for 10 seconds and dies.
