Just lost power to lighter -

Plugged in 12v car heater in lighter - think fuse blew. No power to
lighter now. looked at fuses in side panel. Seem ok. Where is there
another fuse. Checked in engine. Found fuse box. None were listed
as lighter fuse. Box was behind battery.

May be labeled (acc)essories, or power ... ? That's one good reason for spending $5-$10 on a good 12volt test light. Then you simply touch light on tabs of fuses & you know. Especially when fuse panels aren't always what they say they are.

These Car Heaters will blow the Fuse or Burn the Hot wire to the Lighter every time. They were never Tested Properly for todays cars. Remove the Lighter and check the wires that go to the Lighter. Get a Flashlight and check the Fuses REALLY Close.

My blower motor stopped working. It wasn't the fuse. I bought a small car heater that plugs into the lighter. It blew the lighter fuse. I replaced the fuse. I plugged the small heater in, again. It worked...

It might be the fuse that is in the plug on your car heater. you should be able to unscrew the plastic flange at the tip of the plug - you can then separate the 2 halves of the plug - watch out for the spring. The fuse is a glass tube type around 1 watt capacity - probably the heating device draws more than that.
The only other thing I could think of is that there's some kind of fusible link in the wiring of the lighter socket.
Good luck!

Where can I find the fuse for a cigarette lighter on the Toyota corolla 2005

This one's the fusebox in the interior of the car; usually below the steering wheel in a panel with a thumbscrew that you just give a quarter-turn, then catch it as it opens; inside are some fuses, which tend to be obvious when they are blown. There's a little legend that tends to be well-lit too, indicating which fuses were for the ligher/'auxillary 12v power' socket. Don't let a failed lighter bust on you; a flaming car is much more expensive than tossing/replacing the bad part or plugging something else in.

Need to remove housing to replace/check cigarette lighter/power outlet functioning. DOes not work after plugging in laptop to adapter. Fuses seem to be Okay....may be shorted out the outlet itself?

I think it has another fuse other than cigar lighter. Accessories, maybe? Not sure how many fuse boxes that car has. But on my bosses truck it was a circuit breaker fuse under the hood. That blew. So I would look for something like that. Or a fuse box on passenger side. I hope this helps. But to answer your question, it isnt hard to get to. Most everything on cars snap on. There may be a screw or two somewhere holding it. But it snaps off straight. Be easy and slow work it a little at a time. So it wont break.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2008 GMC 2500. My cigarette lighter (not the Aux 1 or 2 power jack) stopped working and I check all the fuses. None are blown but I have no power. Are there any in-line fuses in this circuit?

Check fuse 55 in the eng. comp. and check the power fuse "alt pwr" 20A in the driver's side fuse panel on side of dash.
I melted my right side power plug with a portable compressor and blew the fuse in the dash panel. I need to get a new power plug now.

Radio, clock and lighter have all lost power

Look straight up under dash, access panel on front of dash, in glove box or could be under the hood in a box.

Cigarette lighter won't work

The front lighter is powered by fuse 24 in the interior fuse panel and the console power points are fuse 7 and 9 in the battery junction box under hood.
If you have a 12V test lamp you can check the socket for power and check the wire to the socket. The socket may be bad.
