The darkgreen wire with white stripe , the wire from the pcm to the fuel pump relay, when you first turn key on you get battery voltage then it will drop off to 4.5 volts ,just enough to keep engine running , is this normal? the relay will not click with that voltage ,but if you unplug the relay the engine will die , i have pulled the pcm out and verified the wire is clean ,and i checked it all other pins on the harness , all ok (OL)on the meter , this truck has bad hesitation ,if you let up on the tbs just a little it will run just fine , dont know if it's fuel pressure or timing problem, the timing is at 0 deg's , dont have setup to check pressure , help please , thanks
4.5 volts , that's not right . Resistance in the circuit . before the relay ! Do voltage drop testing , not ohms . That should stay at vehicle (battery voltage ) It should go low on the other side of the circuit . Watch this video on voltage drop . Voltage is not being pulled low , it should not not drop voltage till it goes through the relay coil , on the ground side .You have high resistance in that green with white stripe wire .

sounds like a computer issue on the burb, but i would check the IAC(idle air control) valve and the TPS(throttle position sensor) first.
I would start with the IAC on the 93'.

Find power wire coming from relay to pump when key switched on, & follow it back to pump. If you have power out of relay & nothing at pump, then I'd look for a break in wire to rear, or just run a new one. Double check your ground as well.

the computer is what sends the signal to the fuel pump relay. Check the harness plug at the fuel pump again they tend to get loose. there is an updated replacement plug for this. also make sure the terminals on the fuel pump relay are clean and not corroded.

Hello Dennis.
When you are checking fuel pump voltage on your pickup when you turn on the key the voltage is only applied to the pump for a couple of seconds unless you go to cranking position.
There are 4 wires leading to the fuel pump on your truck. The gray wire is the 12 volt positive power feed to the fuel pump and the black provides the ground. The orange and purple wires are your fuel gauge wires.
The relay for the fuel pump is in your under hood fuse panel and I believe is marked on the underside of the fuse panel cover. It should click on and off again quickly when you turn the key to "on". Having a helper to cycle the key would be handy while you put your finger on the relay and listen to it. Just because it clicks still doesn't mean it's functional but relay failure on these models is somewhat rare.
I would start by checking for power at the fuel pump harness.
Fuel pump issues are quite common on these model year trucks.
Hope this helps you out.

If/How long will it crank over before it stops? Are you saying it will crank over, but very slow? Has it been sitting quite a while. Got good spark, and fuel?

wingman.....The PCM voltage is being pulled low by the relay coil. However, I would check the resistance across the control side of the relay to make sure it is correct. You should see 40 to 180 ohms depending on the relay you have, maxi, mini or micro.
There are a several things that can cause the hesitation. Is the service engine light illuminated at any time?
Let me know.
