Try the dimmer switch that adjusts the dash/gauge lighting. It should turn an extra bit that turns on the dome light. Also, read the Owner's Manual for info on the dome switch.
Your car should still be under warranty. The dealer should fix it for free. GL, Td
Check in Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover... RELAY 1...
Finally, take off the switch and test jumping voltage.

The dome lamp switch has 3 positions: DOOR, OFF, and ON. When in the DOOR position, the dome lamp operation is controlled by the body control module (BCM).The ON position provides a ground for continuous operation. Ground is provided at G302. The OFF position turns OFF any dome lamp operation. The courtesy lamps, may be manually turned ON by placing the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch in the DOME position. When the dome lamp switch is in the DOOR position, the dome lamp will illuminate when a door is opened. When a door is opened, the courtesy lamps turn ON. After all the doors have been closed, the courtesy lamps will remain illuminated approximately 10 seconds after the last door closes. When the driver places the dome lamp switch in the OFF position, the dome lamp will be disabled.
Do you hear any chimes when the light comes on ? Door ajar switch problem , maybe . Picture of car with door open light lit on the instrument cluster ? When does it come on , when driving or sitting still or both ?
You mite want to take it to a qualified repair shop and have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .
DTC B2555 05: Passenger Compartment Lamp Control Circuit Short to Battery or Open
The body control module (BCM) applies battery voltage to the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamps high control circuit. When any door is opened, the door ajar switch contacts close and the BCM receives a door-open input. If the BCM receives a door lock or unlock input or a rear hatch open input, the BCM will activate the courtesy lamp high control circuit, providing battery voltage to all of the dome lamps, reading lamps, rear compartment lamp, and vanity mirror lamps. In the event that any of these lamps were to remain illuminated for more than 20 minutes with the ignition switch in the OFF position, the BCM will deactivate the courtesy lamp high control circuit to prevent a total battery discharge condition.
Do you know how to do basic automotive electrical testing ? How to test inputs and outputs of a control module ? in this case the BCM - body control module ? Find wiring diagrams at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html also watch this video ECM Inputs and Outputs Diagnosis
There should be a button inside the door arch, on the hinged side, that activates the interior lights when the door is opened, this button also turns the light off when the door is closed.
Find this button and push / activate it manually with your hand.
If the light is not turning on and off, check that the switch on the interior dome light is in the "DOOR" position, not the OFF or ON position. this is usually the middle position.
Check all the Auto door light buttons on all doors, you may find one that is loose (not springing back into position) this will need replacing as it could be the cause of the interiour light on working automaticly.
I hope some of this helps
The instrument dimmer function is most likely in the light switch. Pull the switch to turn the parking lights on. Then rotate the knob to bring the instrument lights on, continue rotation of the knob to bring the dome light on. Be sure to turn dome light off so as not to kill your battery. the dome light will not turn itself off.
Sounds like the motor speed control is going bad (resistors near the motor) or the motor itself is going bad, maybe bearing in it. Check the resistor control to see if it appears to be melted any.
Hi. I don't know exactly what kind of vehicle you are dealing with so I can give you an answer but it may be generic in content. Usually, if a dome light stays on, it is due to a malfunctioning door jamb switch. It could also be due to a interior switch position on the dome light itself not turning off or stuck in the wrong position even if it has been switched to turn off. The last idea I have maybe a crossed wire or short causing the light to stay on due to a alternate power source that could be battery powered with key off. In any case, you are going to need a wiring diagram of the vehicle circuit involved with the dome light to help you better find all the components and what power and ground should be present. Check out the chilton's books in the library or, if you would like to send me a response with the year, make and model, I may be able to send a pic of the wiring diagram. If you happen to own a Ford Ranger.... the most common cause for this problem is the drivers door jamb switch. It is located inside the drivers door attached to the door lock actuator. They tend to get sticky and eventually stop working altogether. Good luck and let me know if theres any more help needed.
There is no fuse marked for dome light's in the rear fuse box. The BCM - body control module controls the dome / courtesy light's .
The body control module (BCM) monitors the courtesy lamp switch signal circuit in order to determine when the courtesy/dome lamps should be illuminated. When the BCM senses that the courtesy lamp switch signal circuit is grounded when the switch is activated, the BCM will directly illuminate the courtesy/dome lamps.

You should possibly think about taking your vehicle to a qualified repair shop !
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With a scan tool, observe the courtesy lamp switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) data list.
Does the scan tool display INACTIVE?
YES - Go to Step 3
NO - Go to Step 4
3
Activate the courtesy lamp switch.
With the scan tool, observe the courtesy lamp switch data parameter.
Does the courtesy lamp switch data parameter change state?
• Test the courtesy lamp switch for sticking in the ON position.
• Perform a visual inspection for loose or poor connections at all related components. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.
That particular switch is on the dome light itself. It'll have three settings, Off, On, and Dome. Just like it says, the Off position makes sure the dome light never comes on, the On position makes sure the dome light is always on and the Dome position makes sure the dome light comes on when you open the door.
