Your smell of antifreeze could be a heater core starting to leak or the heater hoses are leaking at the connection at the firewall.get it up to running temp and be careful and see if the hoses feel the same temp .Also it could be a bad radiator cap.all these things can be test with a coolant pressure testor that you can borrow at auto zone store .I dont recommend many of there major parts like alt.starters,brakes but the do have several tools to use.plus there are 2 recalls on that model that are still open campaigns 1 is the shifter detent the other which is most important is the front brake rotors are defective it is call crystalized metal if you hit the brakes to hard they will explode and no stopping or if one brakes it can through you one direction.I just check this recall lastweek because one of my friends wantedd to go a few more miles on his pads well he was on the hiway traffic slowed quick and he hit the brakes he went under the corner of a semi and lets put it this way from the neck down was ok.The vehicle is in storage and I examind the jeep for court and I ran the vin and never were changed.Just call a chrysler dealer and ask for a vehicle check to see if there are any open campaigns on recalls have your registration with you to read it off the vin numbers it is 17 combo of letters and numbers
Are you saying there is no air coming out of the vents, or the air is not hot ??
If both heater hoses are hot and the air coming out the vents is not, you could have a blend door problem under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.
the air is hot, but its dosnt blow out of the vents till i get about 40 MPH the hoses are hot. could this be a bad blower?
Yes it could be the blower motor or a blend door problem. You should be able to turn the fan on high and feel it coming out the vents. Someone would need to pull the blower motor out and check it.

it maybe a blend door problem. if both hoses at the firewall for the heater are close in temperature its not likely a heater core. the actuator for the blend door is located on the bottom of the heater/ac box towards the middle of the bottom. it will be a tight fit but you can remove it without removing any part of the dash. take it off and disconnect the power. start the vehicle and manually move the door and see if the temp changes

Yes you do need a heater core, if not replaced it will only get worse.

OK. So the blower notor isn't operating. Do you have power to the blower motor? The resistor is new from what I got. If you don't have power to the blower motor, then check the speed control switch and fuses. If you have power at the blower motor, replace the blower motor
