Ignition coil or Ignition control module I would look towards the ignition control module.I had a 91 cavelier do the samething exact same and i tried everything to try and fix it,it turned out that it was the ignition control module. There will be 2 coils mounted onto that plate. It ran good till it warmed up,once warmed up it would stall and spitt and sputter,if left for awhile would start up and go good untill it warmed back up.Once the module would get warm it would quit working untill it cooled down

2000 pontiac grand am stalls

The pump should run quietly. Do you hear a load hum while driving? When it stalls, with the key on and everything quiet in the car you should hear a faint hum when you turn just the key on ( not cranking the engine over ) this last only a few seconds. If you hear that. The pump is working you might have another problem. Let me know

Car is quiting while going down road

Have you ever replaced the ignition coil? Sometimes a coil will heat up and break apart inside losing your connection/charge inside it to fire your plugs.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM SE, and i was driving down the road and the engine died! nothing else did so I had to coast the car to an available spot to park....i made it, now i try to re-start the car...

depends on how many miles on the car,,but sounds like timing chain,,but be careful,,if u have a ( 0 ) tolerance motor something could of happen internally,,2.3L are known for timing chains,,unfortunately u wont know this, until the head is removed or chain is replaced

2000 Jeep Cherokee will just die while driving down the road

Is your Check engine (or Service engine soon) light on?

If it is, than diagnosis just became easier. Take it to a good auto parts store (IE Autozone) or dealer and they can scan the camputer and tell you the error code. Even if it won't start, they can read the old codes....

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
