The control is made by HomeLink. You can find instructions on how to program your specific type of garage door here:

http://www.homelink.com/program

Here are the basic steps for a "Genie" garage door opener:

  1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash, which may take up to 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
  2. Press the appropriate HomeLink button I, II or III which you want to train and keep holding it until the indicator light starts flashing slowly. Once the indicator light starts flashing slowly, you may release the button. HomeLink is now in "training mode."You will now have 5 minutes to train your hand-held transmitter to the HomeLink transmitter in the bumper.
  3. Stand in front of your vehicle with the original hand-held transmitter for the garage door opener (or other device) that you wish to train. The transmitter unit to be trained is located in the bumper about 4 inches to the left of the vehicle's center.
  4. Hold the original hand-held transmitter between 0-12 inches from your car's bumper. NOTE: The distance between the hand-held transmitter and the HomeLink transmitter unit in the bumper depends on the system being trained. It may require several attempts at different distances in order to pick up the signal.
  5. Now press and hold the button on your original garage door transmitter while keeping your fog lights in view. The fog lights will blink three times to indicate that the training has been successful.NOTE: If the training time exceeds the five minutes, the fog lights blink once. If this happens, you should repeat steps 2 to 5.
  6. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
    • If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
    • If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with Steps 7-9 for a rolling code device. A second person may make the following steps easier. Please use a ladder or other device; do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps.
  7. At the receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the "learn" or "smart" button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). If there is difficulty locating the training button, reference the garage door opener's manual.
  8. Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button (the name and color of the button may vary by manufacturer). NOTE: Once the button is pressed, you have approximately 30 seconds to initiate the next step.
  9. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two seconds and release. Repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence up to 3 times to complete the training process.

SOURCE: my Porsche Key fob no longer unlocks the doors

Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed

Sinc garage door opener with a 2009 Hyundai Sonata

Take your remote and hold it up towards your rear view mirror or your visor whitchever is the one with 3 buttons of your homelink , also make shure that your opener has a program button which come in different colors depending on the year of the machine, if you have a program button on your powerhead of your garage door opener then you can mostlikely program your car to it! The button on garage door opener comes in different colors such as yellow, green ,orange, black, grey and black ! make shure your opener has one of these buttons! Now take your remote and point it within a few inches of your visor/rearview mirror and hold the button down that oppens that door....now press the first button on your car mirror/visor until the door opens up , it take sometimes a few trys but remember to leave your car running while doing this and have it outside the front of your garage door while doing this!

Hi i have a porshe 911 2009 i lost 1 key and other one is now broken how can i programe a new key which i got from the dealer

This key shouldn't need programming, not from the dealer. And if it does for some reason the dealer should have told you this. I work with alot of different cars and some keys need programmed some don't. Some of the ones that do need programmed , the dealer will tell you the procedure or that it has to be towed to the dealership and programmed there. You may have gotten the wrong key. ie.. chip in it

Home link will not work, - when the cotrol button on garage door unit is depresssed, and simultaneously the learning button in the Porsche is depresssed, the garage control unit blinks slowly, then...

Try it again! i just did mine and it works. I took the remote and pressed the button on the remote the same time as the button in the car. It started blinking slowly and then rapidly as stated in the instructions. I then hit the learn button on the opener motor and pressed the car button two times. It works like a champ!
