2004 PT cruiser, Can't change the radio station

The radio goes on and off, up and down in volume, but wont let me change the station, thru the channels or up and down button or the seek button. So it stays on one station at all times.

I have also realized that my fuze is blown for the cig lighter and accessory plug in.

Could this be the issue?

Just like any computer, unplugging it for 30 seconds or so may cause it to revert to initial settings.... if you take the battery terminal off you will reset everything and that is not necessary.... find the fuse for the radio and yank it.... see if it helps. IF NOT, probably a burned programming mode... hope you like that station....

SOURCE: lighter stopped working,

The Cigarette lighter is run off of a 20A fuse located in the engine compartment just behind the battery. The fuse map will say P-Out and is in position #14. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Radio Station stuck on one station and wont change!

sounds like the radio is locked up.... if the radio requires a code do you have it and know how to install it... if so ... unhook the battery for about 15 minutes and hook it back up... should work ok then...

Replacing the radio and was told i need a code to activate it.... If so what is the code...?

You must be replacing the radio with a stock PT cruiser radio. ( one that normally comes with the car, Not aftermarket.) recommend looking on back of radio for a radio ID number, then calling a dealer and giving them the VIN to the vehicle and the radio ID number. Once you do get the number, write it down and keep it somewhere Safe BESIDES in the car. This is a anti theft feature, so if someone steals your radio they wont be able to use it. Also if your battery every goes dead and your car looses power, you will need to re enter this number in the radio in order for it to work. ...best of luck

The radio/cd player periodiclly does not work.

I was looking through thread for a chronic AC problem with my (what I call POS Cruiser) and have also had the same thing happen with my radio. By chance, at least on mine, i happen to push the key in just a little and the radio came back on. I did this a few times, and sure enough pull on the key just a little and radio goes off, push it back in just a little and it comes back on. (this is a duplicate key on mine)
I hope this helps.
