The alternator belt is off of my daughters car but in order to replace it i need to remove the power steering belt but cant figure out where the bolts are that need to be loosened to get it off
Then you don't take anything off. There will be a spring loaded idler that tensions the serpentine belt. Take a socket or long 12 point wrench and attach to the center bolt of the tensioner, then rotate the idler wheel away from the belt, take the belt off. Slowly release the spring tension of the idler.
The 2nd belt should be set up the same way.
If he found the tensioner, then the idler wheel is a part of that assembly, and is what rides on the belt to tension it.
I understand. Mechanicing is mechanicing, just a different manufacturer. But the basics are all the same.
Sometimes helps to consult the Owner Manual too, and, you can stop by the local library to consult any repair manuals they may have. You can also try a Google search on the Make/Model/year, Engine of the car, with the words "replace belt" or "remove belt" or belt routing, etc. Maybe you can pull up a picture.
