I am having problem in removing my spare tire from your the bottom of my Mercury Villager (model GS, year 1996). I keep unscrewing, whatever that holds it, put it is not coming loose. I need to know how to do this myself, in order to avoid calling my husband to help me in case I have a flat on the road.
Thanks but i don,t need help with a tire i need help with my car engine it is lose in speed in it is sounding loud can you please help me with that thanks,
Chances are the tire has "stuck" itself to the bottom of the frame of the vehicle. This happens when a new tire comes into contact with a clean metal surface and remains there under pressure for a period of time.
If you've unscrewed the holder, and can see that the mechanism is loose from the tire, then use your foot or a 2 x 4 or pipe or something and try to wedge/lever against the tire to break it loose. Make sure you arm, leg, foot, or had is not under the tire as it will likely fall to the ground, and those things are heavy.
