Transmission problem i have a 2001 automatic hyundai tiburon and i was not having any problems and then after it was left overnight in below freezing temps the car wouldn't start...so i charged the battery and then it started fine...then when i tried to drive it started shifting funny and then once tried to go to 4th it suddeny downshifted. I let the car run for about 30 min and checked the transmission fluid and it was fine and not low... so now i have no idea what could be wrong with my car

SOURCE: automatic transmission frozen

U can't shift it out of park because the battery is dead, park is locked until the brak lights are activated (no power no lights), this 12 volt brak light signal un-locks the park solenoid.

SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon automatic transmission problem

Okay, I baught an 01' tiburon last march. When I first had trouble with the tranny it wouldnt shift into fourth and no it wasnt the overdrive button. Then it started downshiftling like what your experiencing then I lost reverse. Ammco rebuilt the tranny. I would take it to them, they will inspect it for free. You may just need a tran fluid flush. You should know that in the automatics the tranny is the weakest part of the car. The engines are great, just everything around them seems to fall apart after 120,000 miles.
Ammco offers a free inspection service. However Just from experience - if you need a new auto tranny it is cheaper to buy one already rebuilt (with warrantee) and pay to have it installed than to rebuild the one you have.

SOURCE: 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse transmission slips in overdrive

well the low cost way to go first would be to try and change the trans fluids. If the problems still remains the it may be an internal problem

SOURCE: 97 mitsubishi eclipse transmission problems automatic 2.0

I have a 95 Eclipse and I recently had to change out my TCU........ Transmission Control Unit, This should be located directly beneath the center console. First I would have the transmission services if problem persist then proceed to changing out the TCU you can get off of ebay. As far as i know there should be 3 Computers in our cars. 1 the Electronic Control Unit located behind radio 2 Transmission Control Unit located under center console and 3 Airbag Control Unit located under hood, Hope this helps.

SOURCE: The automatic transmission is stuck in 3 gear.

Definitely, there's a problem with your transmission. You are right, it is overheating. It is
caused by worn out part inside your transmission.
Have it checked by a qualified mechanic.

Where is the dome light fuse located on a 2001

Chances are the dome light is grouped into a circuit for other lights as well. You should have a "meter" or "head" listing in the fuse box. One of these should do it. The fuse box should be under a kick panel below the steering wheel on the left side.

My Hyundai Tibruon 2001 does not shifts any gear :( I just put new automatic transmission, because it had gear shifting problem. after putting new fluid, i guess I put to much. can it cause this issue?...

removing excess oil will be a good start to see if you have a problem. Excess oil causes over heating of the oil and over pressure in the tranny or frothing of the oil which lowers operating pressures in the tranny

I want to change my 6 speed transmission to automatic how much trouble is it in a 2003 hyundai tiburon

It would be a fairly difficult project. You'ld need to change trans mount, different driveshaft, shifter & linkage, add a torque converter, new radiator w/trans cooler built in lower section, cooler lines. On top of all that, Hyundai automatic transmissions are very unreliable.

I cant find where to put transmission fluid in my car

If it's a manual transmission you don't have a dipstick because you have a clutch not a converter. Automatic transmissions have dipsticks. And if it is an automatic..the fluid can go into the tube where the dipstick is.

My automatic vehicle wont change gears

Sounds like the transmission is in fail safe mode. This occurs when there is a problem in your transmission. You will have to get the vehicle scanned for trouble codes.
