Turn signal flasher keeps blowing

I have an 87 F 150 pick up. My turn signal flasher keeps blowing. The fuse doesn't blow and the signals work for a day or two when I replace the flasher but I've been through three flashers in a week, now. I have a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to electrical systems but I cannot understand why the flasher would fail before the fuse.

The Flasher relay blows but the fuse don't? Makes no sense, Mayhap it ain't fused????? Fuse should blow before the flasher smokes. Got to be a feed back on the 'turn signal/flasher/brake' light system. They all run togeather. Main area where they meet is the turn signal/flasher area. That thing on the top of the steering column just below the wheel . Aftermarket trailer connection? Or ground wire for the forementioned that isn't grounded like it should be.

This is more than likely caused by a Bad Turn Signal Switch Housing inside the Sterring column. The one that the Handle is attached to and Wraps around the Sterring Shaft on the Inside of the Column.

03 s10 turn signal fuse keeps blowing

the turn signal circuits are shorted,,the fuse blowing saved you from a fire.(burning harnesses)
faili on left or right or both and HAZARDS? SORRY 3 fuses to learn that.
USA answers, Chevy S10 only
there are 2turn fuses, I see, in the schematics.
LT-turn and RT-turn, so now you know which side is shorted. just a glance and bingo , side. bad know, cutting work in ;1/2.
but, there is 10amp turn fuse too, that runs the turn flasher module
so 4fuses, turn left and turn, main and haz main.
this is bad.

turn-undefined-undefined-0.jpg any thing in this whole turn system can blow fuse turn main, BLK.
but learning if only one side fails ,is great moment,
if both fails, the problem is this module or the turn swtich is shorted.

Signal fuse keeps blowing

Does the fuse blow on both left and right sides,or just blows randomly or as soon as you put the new fuse in?
Does it have tilt steering?I would check the wiring in the steering column to start.

S40, volvo, keep blowing a turn signal fuse

When a fuse keeps blowing everytime you replace it that means there is a short circuit along its cable. Check the flasher cables or call a car electrician to do it.

Fuse keeps blowing out

The parking lights, dash lights, turn signals, and hazard flasher should be 4 different circuits.
So you would need to know exactly what that fuse protects, then look for the short to ground.

The flasher unit will not cause an overload in the circuit.Activate the four way flasher and if the fuse does not trip then it appears there is a short in either the left or right signal circuit when the steering wheel is turned. The position of the steering wheel will determine which side is shorting out if this is the cause
