My original key fobs quit working on my 2005 GMC Yukon SLT. I changed the batteries with no positive result. I next replaced the key fobs and followed the programming. This worked for a couple of months and now I am back to my orginal problem even after attempting to reprogram the fobs. I believe my receiver module may have gone out and I am trying to determine its location within the vehicle so as to replace it.

The keyless entry system has the following main components:
• The transmitters
• The passenger door module (PDM)
The PDM communicates with the body control module (BCM) through the keyless entry serial data circuit. When you press a button on a transmitter, the transmitter sends a signal to the PDM. The PDM sends a request to the BCM and the BCM performs the appropriate function.

Have your dealership test the remotes for you, they will also use a "Tech-2" to re-program it and should not charge you to do so. "I know mine does not" The "puddle" lamps come on when you un-lock the doors with the remote."If they are enabled in the options on your dash information center or "DIC". "See owners manual for info on that". As far as the DRL's make sure your bulbs are good because they are known to blow out. But the remote should not have anything to do with those.Hope that helps a little?

SOURCE: I changed batteries in my 2003 GMC Sierra key fob

1. Close all doors
2. Insert key into ignition
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver's door panel, continue to hold down
until instructed to release in step 9.

4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in a fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)
6. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)
8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
9. Release the power UNLOCK button on the door panel. The vehicle should respond by
door locks locking and unlocking automatically. (If locks do not cycle after you let go,
not before you let go of the unlock button, then the vehicle has not entered programming
mode and you must start procedure over. Remove key from ignition, open drivers door
and return to step 1 ). If the locks do cycle automatically then proceed to step 10.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote until the doors lock and
unlock. This may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote. (Including any existing remotes).
12. Turn the ignition to the ON position to exit the programming mode.
13. Test remote(s).

Why did you replace the crankshaft position sensor ? Did the vehicle not have spark ? You did check for spark ? Fuel pressure ? Compression ?

Gmc keyless entry

I would start by replacing the battery in the key fob remote that goes on your keychain. You can take it to most auto part stores and they will test/replace the battery in the device. It's a fairly cheap fix. If the device still isn't working after a new battery, then you will need to replace the fob. Some auto part stores like, AutoZone, will carry some of them but some you need to go to your local GMC dealer.

The dash board says key fob battery 1 is low ... what is it ? what should I do?

The push button devise you use to lock and unlock the doors is your Key fob. It has battery's to make it work, they are inside the fob. Think of it as a TV remote, they use battery's to send the signal to the Tv. Same for your Key Fob uses battery's to send a signal to the car to lock / unlock the doors.

2007 gmc yukon denali wont unlock w/ keyfob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works

Hello,
If you armed the security system with the key Fob Transmitter it will stay armed until it is disarmed with the transmitter if the door switch is bad in the latch.
I would try to unlock the doors with your remote transmitter. If this doesnt help try to unlock your rear Trunk/tail gate with the key making sure all doors are closed. If this doesnt work you may need to perform the VTD relearn procedure. Let me know If thats the case Ill give you the instructions you need.

Seating in the drivers seat , make sure all doors are closed.Insert key into ignition, don't turn on yet.
Wait for the dome light to go out, then press and hold the door unlock button , make sure it is UNLOCK, while turning the key ON OFF ON OFF Twice , do not engage the started, just on to the point of being on. Release the unlock button, and your doors should lock, then unlock indicating programming mode.At this point hold down both the lock and unlock button on the key fob. After 30 seconds your locks should lock and unlock, indicating the fob is programmed. This must be repeated for all remotes, whether or not it be new or old. After all remotes are programmed, turn the key off and on again to exit programming mode.
