Toyota is great they try to make things fool proof. taken from http://www.ask.com/answers/72103781/firing-order-for-a-1999-toyota-4runner-3-4 : The firing order for a 1999 Toyota 4 runner 3.4l is 1-2-3-4-5-6. When standing in front to your car, the left bank of the cylinders are numbered 1, 3 and 5 while on the right they are numbered 2, 4 and 6.
1,2,3,4,5,6 - Good job Toyota!
SOURCE: I need to know the firing order for 1999 toyota
I have been also trying to find the right firing order for a 1999 Corolla 1.8 automatic and I have seen three different answers all saying they are authoritive. One says 1.4.2.3, one says he is wrong and it is 1.4.3.2 on a 98-99 and 1.4.2.3 on later corollas, Autozone says it is 1.3.4.2. I have tried them all and I still get a P300, 302 and 303 problem. I have switched the ignition coils and still have the problem. Clearly my problem is something else, but when I do get it fixed I need to know the right firing order. I just switched the engine with a used Japanese engine so I am not sure if something might not be compatable with my computer or the Camshaft position sensor is not compatible. Still I need to know the right firing order. Tell me why you think it is that would be helpful.
Thanks,
John
