I start the car and it sounds rough.and then when i had looked on the dash it seems the battery voltage would go up and down.But its super cold out right now its 30 degrees and it just recently started.And i just went out and started it to warm it up cause it is so cold and its seemed like its gotten worse the colder it is??? i dont know anything about cars and im hoping its not to hard to fix im a single mom and have to get to school and back?What do you think the problem is??? Also it seems to be alittle hesitant when i push on the gas like not alot of power.
With the service engine light flashing it means there is a catayltic converter damaging misfire happening . With you not knowing about car's it may be hard for you to fix . Have you ever changed spark plugs or plug wires ? Are there any parts stores near you ? If thier is have them check codes . It will tell you which cylinder is misfiring , and they can give you advice on what to do , sell you parts you need . Also there are videos on youtube showing how to test for what mite be causing the misfire . I wouldn't drive it too much , you don't want to mess up the catayltic converter because they are not cheap .

Your GM product has a safety alarm, it shuts down the radio , or locks it.
I send ours to a GM dealer to get it unlocked. They don't give those codes out.

Replace the fuel filter. The new gasolines with ethanol tend to lloosen any crud in the gas tank, which then plugs the filter. When the engine stalls, the crud falls away, and it will run again until it plugs up again.

Sounds like the ISC ( idle speed control ) motor and TPS ( throttle position sensor ) are in need of a synchronizing adjustment. If one of the adj is off is throws off the other. UNFORTUNATELY the HT4100 had a reputation for leaking intake manifold and head gaskets,whichic also could the problem. Any service lights coming on ? As far as going UPHILL power loss, first thing I would do is replace the FUEL FILTER . road test and note any difference. Now the brakes. Regardless of the vehicles age, done properly and with properly operating equipment should stop like new. Either done incorrectly, or poor quality parts. Many factors. The car is a keeper is handled properly. Hope this helps

probably need new fuel injectors,or plugs wires, replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor, run it if still the same, do a compression test if the is good replaced fuel injectors
