you have to eliminate several items
one at a time.
but it all comes down to three things air, fuel and fire.(spark)
disconect the gas line and see if the fuel pump is pumping at rated pressure you mayneed a gage for that, gas is dangerous be very careful dumping any amounts about, or disconect and see it squirt into a container ,again be careful. if you are confident that the streem of gas is strong. then it is not the fuel pump.
spark? The sensor for the spark plugs may be a pcm system which is a pulse hall effect sensor that sends a signal though a coil in the distributor. the steel in the coil may be getting rusty and swelling ( steel swells if it rusts ) the mettal plates in the center of the coil may be expanding and now are stretching the copper in the coil so now they are broken but just touching enough to run untill it gets to hot ( mettle expands when hot ) causing the hall effect sensor not to work propery all the time.
check the air cleaner for a proper filter to be clean.
mostly it is either fuel or spark.

try running redex through the system then change the fuel filter to rule out a blocked line

either your fuel pump relay or the safety shut off switch

You need to check for codes to begin with. If no codes then we can start guessing. A code is pretty strait forward. Without a code, hands on will be the only way to diagnose this issue.
