SOURCE: 2002 dodge caravan idles very fast. when in park

look at your Idle Air Control Modual (IAC Valve) and most likeley have it replaced, or, check to see if anyone has tampered with your idle set screw on the butterfly valve on your intake air plenum. usually these have a tamper proof plug over them so probably not. i am unsure of the voltages for this modual on your vehicle so i would suggest taking to a mechanic. (note. be sure to check and make sure your IAC is running fine BEFORE tampering with your Idle set screw, this could cause your computer to re adjust to different situations then probably end up with bigger problems. if you feel like replacing your IAC by yourself go to http://www.napaonline.com/Default.aspx then search for Idle Air Control, youll see which part looks like yours, then go replace it. but, not knowing this vehicle i reccomend taking it to your local Technitian for there could be other unknown causes to this problem.

Hope this helps!

2003 Dodge Caravan makes a chugging sound.

Could have damaged inner or outer CV joints. Look for loose suspension components. Or could have worn engine or transmission mounts.

check for spark if there is spark present the it could be the map sensor.

The van stalls without notice at times when ready

This sounds like a classic case of either a dirty/faulty IAC (Idle Air Control) motor or a sticking EGR valve. If you can prevent it from stalling by keeping your fot on the gas slightly and it always restarts right away and runs good when restarted, I'd suspect the IAC first. If it "chugs"when stopping and will run rough even with a little (not a lot) of gas pedal and/or it runs rough when restarted, I'd suspect the EGR.

Dumb question: where is the PCV valve?

I had the same problem and it was the EGR valve.
