P0301 Cylinder #1 misfire. First of all check Spark plug, plug wire, Compression in #1 cylinder and if all are fine then I would be looking at the fuel pump !

SOURCE: Engine light on in 2000

it is your EGR Valve. EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve
, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor EGR (DPFE). These things work together to deliver the correct amount of recirculation based on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD detected an insufficient amount of EGR.

Causes A code P0401 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

  • The DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
  • There is a blockage in the EGR (tube), most likely carbon buildup
  • The EGR valve is faulty
  • The EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vaccuum
Possible Solutions In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not always the culprit.
  • Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open
  • Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits
  • Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model)
  • Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)
  • Replace the EGR valve
LOCATION:
drivers side of the engine bay, just under the intake manifold plenum where the throttle body bolts up! If you take the air snokel off you'll see it better! It has a remote mountted vaccum solenoid with a 2 wire connector going to it that you should be able to see near the throttle body.
Follow the hose from the solenoid down to the valve and you'll find it!

hopes this helps-------lebones

SOURCE: Code PO442 & PO455 on a 2003 Dodge Caravan with 3.3 engine

The problem is most likely to be with your vacuum line they put cheap rubber hose for this purpose. You should find a diagram at the front of the vehicle trace the hoses by this diagram. You most likely will find a bad piece of hose.

Need help on how to fix injector #1 control circuit....the engine code on my 2002 dodge grand caravan w/ 3.3 engine, is giving me the code for injector #1 and #2 control circuit...what would be the next...

the injectors are controlled by the computer that gets signals from sensors. check sensors first, all of them on the engine and then, if no problem found, have your computer check by repair shop

2002 Dodge Caravan hesitates and sometimes stalls at lights could it be the fuel pump, mechanic changed fuel filter still not corrected and if so how much are fuel pumps?

A fuel pump would cost around three to five hundred dollars, you have to drop the gas tank to replace. i would condsider making sure that is the problem. You should have the fuel pressure tested, you may have another problem. I would make sure you dont have a vacuum leak, misfire, or other causes idle air control pintle could be sticking due to contamination and depending on the engine a bad mass airflow sensor. Do you have a check engine light on if so go to autozone have them read the codes and post back. Alot of mechanics always go straight for the fuel filter and it almost never is the problem.

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).
