That can be a pain to get to. Lay on the ground in front of the right front headlight. Shine a flashlight through the black vent and you'll see the little black cylinder that is the pump. Unhook the electrical wiring and pull it off. Mine was gunked up with sludge, so after I cleaned out the suction, I replaced it and it worked fine.

The way to tell if it still works is try activating the windshield washers. If you hear the little pump buzzing, it works, but it's not getting a suction. If no noise, you need to buy a new one at Auto Zone.

The rear wiper motor is separate from the front one. That is right behind the back door panel at pivot point. Your wiper motor and pump for your front washer fluid is under the grill below your pivot points on the front wipers.

How do I change the windshield washer pump on 2002 kia optima

Windshield washer pumps are attached to the windshield washer fluid container. Remove that container and look for the washer pump. That is the only item with two wires connected to it. First remove hose connected to the washer pump and turn the washer switch on. IF water flows from the washer, your water lines are clogged, if no water flows, your washer pump maybe dead or there is no power going to the washer pump.

Try testing IF current is passing/present at the two wires by connecting as continuity tester or simply a small lamp. Switch the washer on and see if the bulb gets lit, if it does, there is power and your problem is the washer pump itself. Replace the pump.

Windshield washer pump won't work

May need the washer pump replaced...check the "help wall" at your local parts store. A manual may be available at your nearby salvage yard...you can find this online too. Hope this helps.

2004 Hyundai Elantra GT Windshield Washer Pump Not Working. The FRONT windshield washer works, but when I use the rear washer, I hear nothing but silence. I checked the FUSE, it's OK. What is going on?

You have 2 washer pumps on the washer bottle. You need to check to see if power is getting to the rear pump motor by using a test light. When you press the button, one of the 2 terminals should light up. If it does, the pump could be bad or it may have a bad connection. If there is no power, you may have a bad switch.

Windshield Washer Pump does not operate on 02 Accent

Your Accent has rear wiper/washer.. correct? That's where the 3rd wire comes in. They sold you/you bought the wrong pump. Here's the wiring diagrams:

Washer doesn't work and I can't hear the pupmp motor working.

The windshield washer pump is part of the windshield wash reservior.
There is an electrical connector located on the bottom of the reservior.
That is the pump .
If the pump is not in the reservior. I would just trace the washer fluid lines from the sprayer on the vehicle back to the pump. The lines just might lead back to the reservior for the windshield wash solution. Then you will have confirmed the pump is in the reservior.

You may have to get a new reservior. The pump might not be seperate item, I am not 100% sure on that.

I also would double check the fuses and any relays related to the washer pump.

Finally, I would check the washer switch if you replace the pump and still is not working .

Good luck

Windshield washer pump

if it is the same as a 2002 UK spec then the washer pump is situated at the bottom of the washer bottle. the washer bottle is situated behind the inner guard on the same side as the filler cap for the washer bottle.
the pump is push fitted to the water bottle.
if u have been using window washer additives then they can form a slime that stops the pump working.
if that is the case then remove the pump and wash it under the warm tap to clean it out and refit.
hope this helps
