95 jeep grand cherokee, hard starting, backfires, when cold

My 95 jeep grand cherokee is very hard to start when it sits overnight in cold weather, <40 degrees, it starts but it backfires continuously for about 5 minutes, until it warms up abit, then it will run rough for awhile, then it will settle down and be fine. when the engine is warming up, the rpm's will flucuate up and down and almost stall, This is only a problem in cold weather, when the temp. is above 50 or so, there is no problem at all.

Get a couple bottles of gas line antifreeze .. if you don't already use it and add it to the gas.

Make sure your fan clutch is working. No fan, no cooling of the condenser, no heat dissipation, no cold air. Start the truck and make sure you feel air movement, a lot.

After i start my 95 jeep grand cherokee limited

crank or camshaft sensor will cause this, a bad crank sensor will cause it not to start or start hard. it controls timing and sends info to pcm for proper fuel mixture and spark at the right time.

Will not start in cold weather

Not solution, fuel injectors/ tune up can make a big difference, diagnostics can't tell you anything unless your car is running with engine lights on, timing is everything!

93 Grand Cherokee 4.0 trouble starting in cold weather

Welcome to the forum. Your question has to many variables. Cold weather out here in Cen Cal this time of year is mid 40s. Is the problem when the vehicle is cold as in ovrernight but starts ok when it is warm? Does it crank OK but seem like it's not getting fuel? If you hold the throttle slightly open, does it start OK?
