My heat in my truck doesnt work

My heat in my 2001 ford expedition will not blow heat out of it. I just replaced the thermostat and that did not fix the problem. What else could it be????? After using the heat in my 2000 Ford Windstar one night we returned to it the next morning to find a clicking/knocking noise in the dash behind the vents and NO HEAT!! All of the vents for front and rear climate control are open but blowing cold air. We have no coolant leaks, the coolant was at the fill line, no sweet smell in the cabin area or under the hood. My mechanic checked the thermostat and said it appears to be operating properly. what could we be talking about here in the nature of diagnosing it and repairing it? I'm about to have a newborn baby soon and we MUST have heat. PLease help!!

The heater in your car depends upon a flow of hot coolant going through the heater core in order to get hot air into the car. If the heater core is partially plugged, it will restrict the flow. If you have a head gasket that is putting exhaust into the cooling system, it will eventually get into the heater core. When this happens there is no coolant in the heater core to make the air warm. If the water pump vanes have corroded away the result will be very poor coolant circulation causing the heater to not blow hot air. If your car is equipped with a heater control valve that is not functioning properly, the coolant flow will be restricted. One or a combination of these factors is likely the culprit in your case.
Flush the heater core 2-3 times, and if the obstruction does not clear, a new heater core is required.

The only thing that can cause no heat is the blend door and or actuator or the cooling system has gas bubbles in it or the heater core is plugged with rust..

I have a 1998 eddie bauer expedition and i cant get any heat to come out of my vents...i have installed a new heater core and a new thermostat and there is coolant in there and the blend door has been...

OK, if the heater core is getting hot, and you put a new thermostat in, then it seems to me that the blend door is not at the right angle in order to allow heat to blowout of the vents.

How was the blend door checked, I would ask?

My 2001 Ford Windstar LE blows cold air and I've had the thermostat, both heat cores, blending door and coolant replaced. What else could it possibly be?

i would take it back to whomever did all that work and ask them to fix it. if you did the work, time to take it to a ford garage.

01 ford expedition has no heat or a/c. replaced thermo and flushed it. any other ideas?

Assuming.......the fan switch works. You may have a blocked or leaking heater core. Hopefully you checked the thermostat before you put it in....you can heat some water up and put the thermostat in it to see if it opens. Not sure if there is a heater control valve in that ride, probably is, you may not be getting any water through it to allow water into the heater core.

2001 ford expedition only blows hot air and when fan is off it keeps drivers feet hot

Hi under the hood the hoses going into the fire wall from the engine on one of the hose you have a valve which is open and close by a solenoid when it's defective it stays open check and close the valve

2001 expedition heater does not heat well

I would flush the whole system with radiater flush then replace with new coolant. But make sure the heater is set to full heat when you flush it ( while driving around the block with flush in it) so the small radiater that has the hot water flowing through it gets flushed too. It may have some build up in it stopping the full flow of heated water/coolant through. If it is bad enough may need to remove and spray out the rubber hoses from the motor to the heater core, and possibly remove the heater core and hose it out to make it flow better and therefore increase the heating ability. Hope this helps.
