2005 silverado door locks

I have a 2005 silverado crew cab. The automatic door locks will not lock the back doors. The doors lock and unlock when you shift in and out of park and the button will unlock the doors. Why will they not lock? The front doors work fine.

    cant unlock doors

Doors locks go thru the unlock cycle while driving, first the drivers door and then all doors. They don't lock but they unlock by themselves.

2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD-LT 4-Door Crew Cab Pickup Truck

Probably is the actuator. Common problem. The actuator is part of the complete door latch. Hopefully that is what you got from 'Dorman'.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado Automatic door locks

I assume you mean that the central locking system will not lock the doors but you can do so manually.

Get inside the vehicle and close all doors.

On each rear door, lock and unlock the mechanism manually a couple of times. In other words do not use the key pad.

Then leave both rear doors in the locked position (manual locking) and operate the lock button on you key pad to operate the central locking system. Wait a few seconds then hit unlock on your key pad and a few seconds later hit lock on your key pad.

If the system fails to lock your rear doors you will need to get the vehicle to an auto electrician to check out the issue and rectify it for you. There are a number of possible causes which cannot be identified without physically checking the system. So you will need to have this rectified by a professional.

I have a 1996 Ford F250 Crew Cab PSD. The right rear door electric lock is not working. I've connected a multi-meter to the lock wiring harness comming through the door and it appears I'm not getting any...

Make sure the meter is connected to body ground instead of door ground. Does it neither lock or unlock? You will only see power when the switch is operated. All locks operate from a common fuse. Check for wire pinch at the door hinge area.

Chevrolet 2500 crewcab - rear door auto lock shut off

try punching the remote lock button twice. experience with 4 door s-blazers shows that it has to be done twice to lock all 4 doors. also look for "child safety" switched for the rear doors that may be disabling remote locking for the rears.

Driver side door lock will not lock electronically

It is the door lock actuator and its real easy their are a few cover plates on trim remove and take out the srews then take off the interior mirror cover / then take the door panel lift upwards and out the after you get the trim panel off the latch has three bolts on outer take those out and disconnect rods be careful they dont break and just reverse it to put it back together
