-The engine stops while I am driving at low speed or stop at stop signs or light
-It will restart immediately
-On the highway it runs fine
-Sometimes it runs fine at low speed or when I stop
-I am running a 1999 Isuzu Trooper
Illuminates when the ignition is switched on. It should extinguish as soon as
the engine starts.
If it illuminates with the engine running, it indicates a malfunction with
the engine management system. Have this checked as soon as possible.
If it flashes when driving, reduce the vehicle speed immediately until the
light illuminates constantly. If it continues to flash, avoid heavy acceleration
and high engine speed, stop the vehicle and have it checked immediately.
On some vehicles this light may be red - again stop the vehicle and seek
assistance.
If it is safe to do so, try stopping the vehicle, switching off the engine,
wait two minutes, then restarting the engine to reset the engine management
system.
With the light illuminated, the vehicle is still safe to drive as
long as no other faults are apparent with the engine. Have the vehicle checked
by a dealer or garage as soon as possible to avoid any damage being caused to
the catalytic converter

i have the same problem, email me if you find out what the problem is at [email protected]
thanks,
stacy
i had this problem occur on my 2000 trooper about 1 year ago. after being in and out of my dealership it seemed an engine harness fixed the problem until a week ago when the problem occured again. if you get any more information give me a holla @ [email protected] . i'll post back here if i find out anything as well.
You have to give more details like electrical load etc.. I mean, does this happen without any electrical load or only when your a/c, sterio and/or lights are on? Have you done any electrical works on your trooper lately?
Try testing your self, drive around without any load. If the car shuts down then it could be some electro mechanicalproblems. Also check if your fan is stuckup. If this happens with electrical load like light, a/c or sterio only, have the wirings for those checked. It could be shorted or so.
On my car this happened and i foundout it was coz of my fan. it was stuckup
Based on what you are saying it sounds like the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) needs to be cleaned or replaced.
