That’s what you need to diagnose swapping injectors is the way to go to see if the problem follows injector one to the new cylinder and also can plug a mood light into injector harness to check for injector pulse should flash steadily

ignition mod. grounds, pcm or timing belt could all be it but, I would have to look at timing first.

1- check there is spark come from spark wires
2- check the fire timing by looking for every wire in the right place
3- check there is injector signl
4- check for any vacuom leak
5- try to clean the MAF by brake and parts cleaner
6- try to reset all the code and see what will come after that

Do you have any engines codes like P 0300. Sounds like ignition coils ,check input wires to coils if okay replace both coils.I have seen this few times

SOURCE: multiple cylinder misfire detected

Thank you for all the information. I don't see how you made it worse unless the injectors were not installed correctly. If you remove them you are suppose to replace the o-ring on each of them and oil them (the o-rings) before installing them. I would check the air filter and the CAT (for excessive back pressure. Also check the rest of the exhaust for damage. If a pipe is kinked or flattened it would need repair. Also GM's are known for some issues with there e-vap systems. You may want to check it out. The gas cap, charcoal canister, vacuum lines. Well good luck.

SOURCE: 96 Chevy Cavalier running on 2 Cylinders

You said the the 2 cylinders in the middle has no fire. That will be 2 & 3. It has 2 coil packs. One runs 1 & 4 the other runs 2 & 3. Check the coil pack that runs 2 & 3....The firing order is 1,3,4,2... It runs because it hits,miss,hits,miss....just enough to keep it running....

Rough idle on 99 chevy metro 1.3l engine. changed plugs good pickup but intermittent misfires. even when idling. also leak in exhaust system.

First thing, fix leaking exhaust, this can cause erratic idling...second thing, remove and clean IAC valve and MAF sensor..dry and replace, also try putting some SeaFoam in the petrol, engine oil and air intake, let sit for 10 minutes then go for 10-15 min drive...suggest you change engine oil shortly after driving about 5000kms, if the oil is old..

Did you get any codes on the misfire? If you did not, test ignition coils, test vacuum, test fuel injectors, verify correct plugs..That's right, anything from a fouled spark-plugs to burned cylinder head valves can cause a misfire. Whatever the root cause of the misfire, the bottom line is that one or more cylinders are not contributing to total engine power output. This leads to power loss, rough idle, unstable RPM and bad gas mileage...cheers

Cylinder #1 continues to Misfire

What DTC code(s) are you getting?
You performed a compression test on cylinder #1; did you test cylinder #2?
Compare the readings, if there is a significant difference in compression readings between the two, you may have a bad head gasket, a bad valve, etc.
The bottom line, the problem is internal to the engine.

clean your iac (idle air control) and then replace ignition plug wires and clean off terminals on coils before putting new wires on, use scotch brite pad or equivelent. could also be intake gaskets leaking, did you notice 1 or more spark plugs cleaner than the others when changing them, sign of burning coolant

No#1 cylinder is missing (sr20de+T p11 primera) high tensions leads are fine, new plugs, new fuel filter, all injectors are still pulsing, fuel pump is working fine no blockages, timing is set to +5* which...

Find out if No. 1 cylinder has compression by doing a cylinder compression test. If compression is good, then swap spark plug and wire with No.2 to see if missing follows. If the missing follows then you know the plug or wire is bad.

If compression is bad, then you know you have a burned valve, a broken ring, a cracked piston, or some other problem.

Has a 6.0 L with bad misfire under a load and is

Hi Brad,
I ran into the same problem your going thru,
swapped cylinder plug and wire ,and the scan kep telling me it was still seeing the problem on the same cylinder,
smoked it too,nothing made sense!
Until i took the whole fuel rail off carefully not to let the fuel run out all over the engine,Had a white rag folded up and handy, tilted the rail assembly and left the fuel run on the cloth,OMG! the rust that came out of there,
I pulled every injector out of the rail, cleaned the inside of the rail with air pressure and carb cleaner.
Its when I was checking the injectors that I found the culprit, the rust pieces had made it thru the injector but were trapped in the screen of the injector!
I hope this cures your.

1998 Chevy s10 4 cylinder running rough

One thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator.
If the diaphram is leaking it will cause gas to be pulled into the vacuum system causing lots of white smoke and extreme rough running.
