Take off your EGR valve and clean it out with carb cleaner also
grease tyhe little screw thing in it,,, u will c what i mean if u take it apart. carbon builds up in the chamber. it is located at the back left side of your engine and is a bit of a pain to take off. this should save u the cost except for the cleaner and labor. i had the same problem cheapest i found was 90$ on ebay.

Yes, take it back. The might of replaced the Egr valve to turn off the light. Don't let them charge you for retesting it, that's why you took it in in the first place.

You could have a restriction in the egr ports. remove the valve. Plug the holes, start engine. 1 hole will be blowing out exhaust, the other will have large vacuum.

You can try cleaning it. Go to your local parts store and buy a can of brake cleaner. Remove the EGR valve and spray it into the valve and let it set 8 hours. Pour out the cleaner and clean the carbon off with a wire brush. Reinstall the valve and see if that helps. If not, you will have to buy a new one and it will not cost $316 if you DIY.

there are a couple of things, first make sure there are not restriction in the exhaust, i know the dealer has had to replace converters under warranty because of this problem, then theres a reflesh program for the computer due to this problem, and lastly,run with egr off make sure it clean of carbon,carbon gets stuck in pintle sets check eng lightbut carbon then blows by so when you remove egr you see nothing, well start with these good luck.
