It's only 2 bolts to detach dipstick tube from block and if it doesn't pull the broken piece out when u remove tube u should see the piece sticking out of block to pull it out by hand!!!

You might have to remove the dipstick tube in order to push the remaining piece out.

Broken dipstick removal on 1.8l Nissan Sentra.

There have been issues with dipstick handles breaking off and dipstick stuck in tube. Here is a simple way to remove that broken dipstick. On the valve cover there is a hose that leads to the intake tube. Remove this hose and with a blow nozzle blow compressed air into the valve cover. The broken dipstick will shoot out of the tube. Simply install the new dipstick into the tube.

Broken plastic handle on oil dipstick, unable to remove same.

take a flash light and look down into the tube if you can see the stick,,,chew some bubbke gum up and put it on the end of a straw the the dipstick penatrate the bubble gum the pull up slowly and twist it,,,if it dosent work go to Autozone or o'reillys get the 2 pice appoxey..the one you need is in a plastic tube approx. 1" round by 3" long I think its called quick steel....Place it on the inside of the straw pusu it over the dipstick let it set for 30 min. it should pull it out DO NOT let any of the appoxy get on the outside of the straw it will weld to the inside wall of your tube....If that does not work you will most likely have to drop the oil pan.

I need to check the ATF, and need to know how/where to refill if it is low. I have the '04 Kia Optima LX. Help appreciated greatly. Thanks.

Run the car long enough to fully warm up both the engine and the transmission.

Remove the transmission fluid dipstick, dry it off with a rag, paper towel or napkin. Wait a little (maybe o seconds) for the fluid that was on the tip of the stick as you removed it, and which might have been deposited on the inside walls of the tube the stick goes into to seep back down into the transmission. While you have the stick out and dry, familiarize yourself with the markings on it.

Put the dipstick into the tube, and fully seat it; make sure it is all the way in the dipstick tube.

Pull the stick out, and read the level of the fluid on it.

If transmission fluid is required, pour it into the tube the dipstick goes in.

Cannot locate trasmission dip on my 2003 expolorer where is it located

This transmission uses a mini-dipstick located on the passenger side of the transmission, toward the front of the trans, and just above the pan.

Good luck dear.

Dip stick for the oil broke off and is stuck inside

SOMETIMES A SMALL POWERFUL MAGNET CAN BE USED TO EXTRACT THE STICK BUT REMOVAL OF THE OIL PAN IS ONE METHOD THAT ASSURES ALL REMNANTS OF THE DIPSTICK ARE REMOVED FROM THE OIL PAN. TRY FISHING THROUGH THE TUBE BEFORE RESORTING TO PULLING THE PAN. YOUR IMAGINATION IS A POWERFUL TOOL. BEST OF LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR USING FIX-YA.
