I have a volvo v50 lb05hmy as i work in a garage, not a volvo one, i got the techs to put it on the diagnostic it came up with the code for an egr valve, i contacted volvo to order this part but was informed that my model does not have an egr valve, can you help

I don't know which diesel engine are you referring to, but in case of 2.0D 136PS glow plugs are behind engine, just between firewall and the engine, under the EGR valve Hard to reach.
You can check them without accessing them if you have multimeter.
Millage service message can be reset without dealer tools. However this is an error message. You need diagnostic tool to check the error code. All you can do right now is to enter hidden menu and check which module is reporting issue (DTC code).
