Either a electrical drain or a corroded connection or cable not letting it charge properly.

The easiest thing to do is to check the generator. If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage across the battery terminals while the car is running. You should get a reading of approximately 14.9 volts which means the gererator is working. With the engine off, check the battery voltage, it should be 12 volts. if it reads less (say 9 or 10 volts), the battery is not holding the charge and needs to be replaced. Also make sure you have good CLEAN TIGHT connections between the battery terminals and the leads. Sometimes a loose connection or oxidation between the terminals and the connector causing a poor connection is to blame.

the issues with testing an alternator, is that if it is a turbine error, that never starts until constant wear is being promoted by the computer.

SOURCE: The battery keeps going dead on 1999 Mitsubishi

There is an alternator fuse located on the positive battery clamp or in the fuse block under the hood. if it is part of the positive battery clamp it is a dealer only part and will run $10 to 20 dollars. If it is in the fuse block you should be able to get one at the auto store and modify it to slide in easily. Get a flash light and check all of your fuses carefully. The blown fuse may be hard to spot. The design of the car lets the battery go dead with out even turning on the charge light on the dash to let you know you are not charging the battery.

SOURCE: Checked out car replaced battery

Theres something drawing the battery, remove the cable and seee if it dies just for a quick test, the draw is a good one to kill in one day, make sure all lights are off and the alternator is not drawing or a bad horn relay drawing , think of something that doesnt work, and walk around looking inside for lights, glove box truck, under hood light radio amp, try unhooking things but you need a tester to see when the draw goes away, i will tell you this is not easy at least it draws all the time, i have some that do this once a year thats hard to find, good luck dont overlook things, it can drive you crazy i know, take your time,

For a battery to go dead on you like that there must be something draining the battery while the vehicle is switched off. It could be something like a trunk light which is not switching off or a short across some circuit that does not show up on any light. The first and easiest test is to disconnect the battery negative cable whenever you park the vehicle overnight etc. and see if the battery still runs down.
As a more positive step and if this does not affect the alarm, disconnect the positive lead from the battery and wire a bulb like a tail light bulb, between the terminal and the removed lead. The bulb should light up. Make sure that everything on the vehicle is switched off, the bulb should still be lit. Remove and replace the fuses one by one until the bulb goes out. That is the circuit that is running your battery flat. Check all the components on that circuit until you get the light to stay out and your problem should be found.

it sounds like you have blown fuse to the Alternator.. I don't know what car you are talking about but they charging systems vary.. But if alternator isn't getting all the power it needs it won't charge. this should be checked.

good luck

Hi
If you have a new battery and it dies it means that the alternator is bad. The alternator is what replentishes the battery and run the car while you drive it. A simple test is as follows start the car, while the motor is running discinnect the (red) positive cable from the battery. The motor should continue to run....If it shuts off it means that the alternator is bad. The battery is only used to start the car! After its started it runs off of the alternator which also constantaly recharges your battery. Have any questions email me at [email protected]
