Po340 Hello, I am getting a error code p0340, p0345, p0021 and p0011 on my 2001 vw passat. I have had the spark plugs replaced, but don't know why i keep getting this error message? Whenever I start the car it shakes after keeping it on for about 10 minutes it doesn't shake as bad?

The 1.8 and the 2.8 motors are common to throw those codes when the timing chain adjuster fails. the guides (shoes) start to break apart, take the valve cover off and check the tensioner

SOURCE: 99 vw passat, when running, MIL lite, on car vibrates- shakes

no flashing light and rough shaking will be part of spark plug but also a very bad miss fire. I am going to guess that your engine is a 1.8t if so you have 4 coils that sit on top of your spark plugs that most likely are arcing you will need to figure out which coil is failing or you can save yourself the trouble and replace all 4 and the spark plugs. before you do that though check your wireing going to your coils look for broken wires or the ground that is next to the #1 coil that is the one closest to the front of the motor and you. hope that helps. that will be the start to fixing your issue also when you pull out the spark plug look down the hole first and make sure that there is not oil in the bottom of the hole if that is the case you will need a valve cover gasket as well. good luck hope that helps

Testimonial: "hey was help full, but no it was second coil, miss fire, $89.00, BUT VW wanted 350.00 to do what i paid and did my self ,lol,,thnks"

Dealer just replaced timing belt and water pump and check eng light is on codes are p0345 and p0340 how bad is this and how far can I drive it

P0345 and P0340 are "Camshaft Position Sensor" problems. Hopefully it is only a wire or sensor bad, and not a camshaft improperly lined up when the belt was changed.
Go back to dealer to have the problem fixed. If the motor runs smoothly, it should be okay to drive to the dealer. The mechanic might have left a sensor wire disconnected.

I got 2 codes from friends diagnostic machine .... po340 and po 344 could you tell me what they are for?

P0340-P0345 aeall for the "camshaft" postion sensor. It is going out, or a wire to it is intermittantly shorting against a ground. But, is DEFINATELY in the camshaft postion sensor.

I have a 2005 F150 w/ 5.4. The following doces are reading on a scan: P0012, P0021, P0345, P0349, P0307. I do have a miss at times and rough idel. Any help would be appreciated

P0012 says the cam shaft signal is over retarded on bank 1, P0021 says that the cam shaft timing on bank 2 is over advanced. P0345 and P0349 means your cam shaft sensor cannot be read. Finally cylinder 7 (P0307) has a misfire. Changing your camshaft sensor would be a good start and then have the codes cleared. Switching the car on and off 5 times or disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 10 minutes will often clear the codes. With any luck everything will be resolved by the new cam shaft sensor. If the misfire is still present remove the spark plug and inspect it. If the plug is OK check out the HT lead and connection to see if there are any shorts.

No start Had Codes p0340 & p0345 both are cmp sensors. Replace both and still no start has no injector pulse and spark.

The crankshaft position sensor works in tandem with the camshaft ones, and they sometimes fail together. I've seen it written that the crankshaft one should be changed WITH the cam ones. They're kinda expensive, but the no spark/injection thing suggests that may be your issue. <!-- from fixya rte -->

I have a 2000 chrysler concorde that the engine light just popped on - the error codes are po302, po420, po340

P0302-cylinder #2 misfire detected
P0420- catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1
P0340-No cam signal at PCM.
The Cam sensor most likely needs to be replaced first. Clear the codes after that and drive and see what comes back on.
