Take the rocker cover and the upper timing belt cover off.
Set No 1 Cylinder to TDC - use the markings on the cam spocket to get this - and confirm it's on the compression stroke by check both inlet and exhaust valves are closed and on the heel of the cam.
In this position, check rockers 1,2,4 and 5.
Take care with the feeler guage to make sure you're right under the pad under the adjuster screw properly and completely passing under it, not sticking part way.
Rotate the engine (crank shaft) 360 degrees. This should bring No 4 to TDC - confirm that both inlet and exhaust valves are closed and on the heel of the cam.
In this position, check rockers 3,6,7 and 8.

Clearance for Intake and Exhaust is 0.25mm at normal engine operating temp.

Don't forget to fit a new rocker cover gasket and half moon seal (use something like Hylomar to help make sure the half moon is sealed properly - usual suspect when rocker cover leaks at the back of the engine).

Mitsubishi l200 2.5 did 08 very noisy engine, sounds very tappety is this normal ?

It may be worn out valve lifters that are inside the engine. If you have more than 6,000 miles on the oil, valve lifters could run noisier. Changing to a high mileage type of motor oil may quite down the valve lifters noise somewhat. Synthetic oil used during the summer months could make it noisier too. If you can hear the noise while driving the car, it is not normal. Upon acceleration, if it gets noisier, you will be needing a valve job in the not to distant future.

Mitsubishi l200 cuts out

It is probably the Suction Control Valve (SCV), it is fitted on the back of the highpressure diesel pump. I just changed one and it works all fine. The Valve should be around 200 euros on ebay, or about 450 euros at your Maindealer. Universal diagnostics will tell you all kinds of things but not this valve. Don`t know what about the proper Mitsubishi Program.
Good luck

L200/Triton 1999 v63.0L using oil ok on big trips

HI, this can be caused by a bad rings set or, improper rod bearing clearances as well. The cylinder walls may be worn, due to the bad ring set in this case, in return, causing oil consumption. i would also check Head gasket(s) and, PVC valve as well.
